นักเรียนไทย 4 คนคว้า 4 เหรียญ คือ 1 เหรียญทอง 2 เหรียญเงินและ 1 เหรียญทองแดงในการแข่งขันเคมีโอลิมปิกซึ่งจัดขึ้นที่ประเทศเกาหลีใต้ระหว่างวันที่ 2 -11 กรกฎาคมที่ผ่านมา

เหรียญทองเป็นของนายวีระศักดิ์ ศรีสุขนิมิตจากโรงเรียนมหิดลวิทยานุสรณ์ ซึ่งตั้งอยู่ที่จังหวัดนครปฐม

นางสาว จิตรัตน์ผู้ที่ได้เหรียญเงินอีกคนหนึ่งบอกว่า เธอชอบทำการทดลองเกี่ยวกับวิทยาศาสตร์ซึ่งเปิดโอกาสให้เธอนำความรู้ทางทฤษฎีไปสู่การปฏิบัติจริงได้
เธอบอกว่าเรื่องแรก ที่จะทำให้เป็นผู้เชี่ยวชาญด้านวิชาเคมีก็คือเราจะต้องทำความเข้าใจและชอบมันก่อน
เธอกล่าวว่า เมื่อเราชอบ เราจะมีความกระตือรือร้นที่จะรู้ให้มากยิ่งขึ้น เรื่องสำคัญที่สุดเราจะต้องศึกษา ด้วยความพากเพียรและตั้งใจอย่างแน่วแน่
