สถานีรถไฟกรุงเทพ หรือเรียกกันทั่วไป

สถานีรถไฟกรุงเทพ หรือเรียกกันทั่วไปว่า หัวลำโพง เริ่มก่อสร้างในปลายสมัยรัชกาลที่ 5 คือในปี พ.ศ.2453 การก่อสร้างแล้วเสร็จ และเปิดใช้บริการอย่างเป็นทางการโดยพระบาทสมเด็จพระมงกุฎเกล้าเจ้าอยู่หัวได้เสด็จฯ ทรงกระทำพิธีกดปุ่มสัญญญาณไฟฟ้าให้รถไฟขบวนแรกเดินเข้าสู่สถานีกรุงเทพ เมื่อวันที่ 25 มิถุนายน พ.ศ.2459

สถานีรถไฟกรุงเทพ สร้างอยู่ในพื้นที่ 120 ไร่เศษ อยู่ห่างจากสถานีเดิมไปทางทิศใต้ ประมาณ 500 เมตร ตั้งอยู่ในท้องที่ แขวงรองเมือง เขตปทุมวัน กรุงเทพฯ มีอาณาเขต
