The present study intends to investigate the effect of working me m ory on listening process and itsrelationship with listening co m prehension.The results indicate that w orking me m ory is an effective predictorfor EFLlistening co m prehension ,i.e.learners with larger working mem ory capacity are m ore likely to havebetter abilities in listening co m prehension ,and that although L1 w orking me m ory span is significantlycorrelated with L2 working me m ory span ,L2 working me m ory span plays a m ore effective role indifferentiating learners
