บทนำ
ความเป็นมาและความสำคัญของปัญหา
ปัจจุบันนี้การอ่านมีบทบาทสำคัญในสังคมเป็นอย่างมาก และยังเป็นหัวใจหลักที่ช่วยให้ประสบความสำเร็จในการประกอบอาชีพ โดยเฉพาะผู้ที่อยู่ในวัยศึกษาเล่าเรียนจำเป็นต้องใช้ทักษะการอ่านเพื่อแสวงหาความรู้เพิ่มพูนสติปัญญา และการอ่านยังเป็นวิธีการหนึ่งในการพัฒนาระบบสื่อสารอีกด้วย การอ่านที่ดีมีประสิทธิภาพจะต้องอ่านจับใจความและสรุปความสำคัญเรื่องที่อ่านได้
การอ่านจับใจความ เป็นทักษะพื้นฐานที่จำเป็น เพราะหากนักเรียนไม่สามารถอ่านจับใจความได้การอ่านในระดับสูงขึ้นไปก็ทำได้ยาก เพราะการอ่านในใจทุกอย่างต้องอาศัยการอ่านจับใจความเป็นพื้นฐาน การอ่านจับใจความของแต่ละบุคคลมีความแตกต่างกัน บางคนสามารถอ่านได้อย่างรวดเร็ว บางคนอ่านได้ช้า ต้องใช้เวลาในการทำความเข้าใจเนื้อเรื่อง ดังนั้น ผู้อ่านจึงต้องเรียนรู้กลวิธีการอ่านจับใจความรวมทั้งความรู้ที่เกี่ยวข้องกับการอ่านจับใจความ พัชรินทร์ แจ่มจำรูญ (๒๕๔๘:๓๕)
ภูริภัทร ทิศร (๒๕๔๓:๑๑) การที่นักเรียนไม่ชอบการอ่าน ไม่มีนิสัยรักการอ่านหนังสือ อาจเป็นเพราะในปัจจุบันสื่อประเภทต่างๆ เช่น โทรทัศน์ วีดีทัศน์ คอมพิวเตอร์ ฯลฯ ล้วนเป็นสื่อที่นักเรียนสนใจมากกว่าเพราะสะดวก ทราบข้อมูลข่าวสารได้เร็ว จึงทำให้นักเรียนสูญเสียเวลาที่ควรจะได้อ่านหนังสือ และในที่สุดจะทำให้ขาดนิสัยรักการอ่าน เสียโอกาสในการที่จะนำความรู้จากการอ่านไปพัฒนาประเทศ นอกจากนี้ นักการศึกษาได้รวบรวมปัญหาในการอ่านของนักเรียน นิสิต นักศึกษา ดังที่ (สร้อยสน สกลรักษ์, 2542; แม้นสมาน ชวลิต, 2548; ประทีป แสงเปี่ยมสุข, 2548) ได้กล่าวถึงปัญหาการอ่านไว้อย่างสอดคล้องกันว่า นักเรียน นิสิต นักศึกษามีปัญหาด้านการอ่านเพราะอ่านแล้วไม่เข้าใจความหมายไม่สามารถวิเคราะห์ วิจารณ์ได้ว่าอะไรเป็นข้อคิดเห็นและข้อเท็จจริงขาดความเข้าใจในเรื่องที่อ่านจับใจความสำคัญอย่างเนื้อเรื่องที่อ่านไม่ได้ จดจำสิ่งที่เรียนหรืออ่านไปแล้วไม่ได้ และไม่รักการอ่าน ซึ่งในการเรียนวิชาต่างๆ นักเรียนต้องอ่านเนื้อหา คำสั่ง หรือโจทย์ปัญหา จากหนังสือ แบบเรียน แบบฝึกหัดต่างๆ ถ้าไม่เข้าใจจะทำให้เรียนไม่ได้ผล ซึ่งก่อให้เกิดปัญหาต่างๆ ทั้งในส่วนตัวผู้เรียนและประเทศชาติ
ในส่วนปัญหาด้านการอ่านจับใจความนั้น มีนักเรียนจำนวนมากประสบปัญหาเนื่องจากอ่านหนังสือแล้วไม่เข้าใจ ไม่สามารถสรุปหรือจับใจความขอเรื่องที่อ่านได้ ดังที่ แววมยุรา เหมือนนิล (๒๕๔๑ : ๑๗) ได้กล่าวว่า “การอ่านจับใจความเป็นความเข้าใจเรื่องที่อ่านระดับต้น และเป็นพื้นฐานสำคัญมากสำหรับการอ่านระดับสูงต่อไป เช่น ถ้านักเรียนจับใจความเรื่องที่อ่านไม่ได้ก็คงไม่สามารถอ่านเพื่อวิจารณ์ว่าเรื่องนั้นดีหรือไม่ดีได้เลย” นอกจากนั้น ธัญมาส ตันเสถียร (๒๕๔๔ : ๔) ได้กล่าวถึงปัญหาของการอ่านจับใจความสรุปได้ว่า นักเรียนไม่สามารถจับใจความเรื่องที่อ่านได้ รวมทั้งไม่รู้วิธีอ่านที่ถูกต้องเกี่ยวกับการอ่านจับใจความ
ด้วยสภาพปัญหาและเหตุผลดังกล่าวผู้วิจัยจึงสนใจจะศึกษาและวิเคราะห์ความสามารถในการอ่านจับใจความภาษาอังกฤษของนักศึกษาชั้นปีที่ 2 เอกวิชาภาษาอังกฤษเพื่อการสื่อสารสากล มหาวิทยาลัยเทคโนโลยีราชมงคลอีสาน วิทยาเขตสกลนคร ด้วยวิธีการอ่านบทความภาษาอังกฤษ และทำแบบทดสอบ ทั้งหมด 4 ครั้ง ว่าแต่งต่างกันหรือไม่อย่างไร เพื่อเป็นแนวทางในการพัฒนาศักยภาพด้านการอ่าน และเพื่อให้นักศึกษาสามารถนำไปประยุกต์ใช้ในสถานการณ์จริงที่จะเกิดขึ้นในชีวิตประจำวันได้เป็นอย่างดี
วัตถุประสงค์ของงานวิจัย
1. เพื่อศึกษาความสามารถในการอ่านจับใจความภาษาอังกฤษ
2. เพื่อวิเคราะห์ความสามารถในการอ่าจับใจความภาษาอังกฤษ
ความสำคัญของงานวิจัย
ผลการศึกษาวิจัยในครั้งนี้ สามารถนำมาเป็นแนวทางสำหรับครูผู้สอนวิชาภาษาอังกฤษ ในการพัฒนาความสามารถด้านการอ่านจับใจความของนักศึกษาจากบทความภาษาอังกฤษ
ขอบเขตของงานวิจัย
1. ประชากร
ประชากรที่ใช้ในการศึกษาครั้งนี้ เป็นนักศึกษาชั้นปีที่ 2 เอกวิชาภาษาอังกฤษเพื่อการสื่อสารสากล มหาวิทยาลัยเทคโนโลยีราชมงคลอีสาน วิทยาเขตสกลนคร จำนวน 30 คน
2. ตัวแปรที่ศึกษา
ตัวแปรต้น ได้แก่ การใช้บทความภาษาอังกฤษ
ตัวแปรตาม ได้แก่ ความสามารถในการอ่านจับใจความภาษาอังกฤษ
3. ระยะเวลาในการทดลอง
ดำเนินการทดลองในภาคเรียนที่ 2 ปีการศึกษา 2558 เป็นระยะเวลา 4 สัปดาห์ สัปดาห์ละ 1 ชั่วโมง
4. เนื้อหาที่ใช้ในการทดลอง
เนื้อหาที่ใช้เป็นบทความภาษาอังกฤษ ตามหัวข้อดังต่อไปนี้¬¬__________________.
