โรงเรียนนายร้อยตำรวจ เป็นส่วนราชการในสังกัดสำนักงานตำรวจแห่งชาติ โดยแบ่ง หน้าที่ภารกิจออกเป็น ๓ ฝ่าย คือ ฝ่ายบริหาร ฝ่ายปกครองและการฝึก ฝ่ายวิชาการ และมีหน่วยงานขึ้นตรงต่อ โรงเรียนนายร้อยตำรวจอีกจำนวนหนึ่ง ดังนี้ [3]

๑. ฝ่ายบริหาร รับผิดชอบด้านการบริหารงานทั่วไปของโรงเรียนนายร้อยตำรวจ ได้แก่ การสรรหาและคัดเลือก การบริหารงานบุคคล การคลัง แผนและงบประมาณ นิติการ ยานพาหนะ อาคาร และสถานที่ พิพิธภัณฑ์ โภชนาการ และการแพทย์ ประกอบด้วยส่วนราชการดังนี้ (ก) กองบังคับการอำนวยการ แบ่งเป็นดังต่อไปนี้

๒. ฝ่ายปกครองและการฝึก รับผิดชอบด้านการปกครองบังคับบัญชา ให้คำปรึกษา แนะนำ สนับสนุนงานกิจกรรมต่าง ๆ ของนักเรียนนายร้อยตำรวจ นักเรียนเตรียมทหารในส่วนของสำนักงาน ตำรวจแห่งชาติ นักเรียนอบรมในหลักสูตรต่าง ๆ ของโรงเรียนนายร้อยตำรวจ รวมทั้งจัดการฝึกในรูปแบบต่าง ๆ เช่น การฝึกแบบตำรวจ การฝึกยุทธวิธีตำรวจ การฝึกพลศึกษาและต่อสู้ป้องกันตัว ประกอบด้วยส่วนราชการ ดังนี้ (ข) กองบังคับการปกครอง แบ่งเป็นดังต่อไปนี้
