บทคัดย่อ
วิทยานิพนธ์โครงการศูนย์การเรียนรู้วิทยาศาสตร์นครราชสีมา มีวัตถุประสงค์หลักของโครงการ คือมุ่งเน้นให้ความรู้ทางด้านวิทยาศาสตร์และเทคโนโลยีแก่เยาวชน และมุ่งเน้นพัฒนาทักษะทางด้านวิทยาศาสตร์ กระบวนการคิด วิเคราะห์เชิงวิยาศาสตร์อย่างมีเหตุผล โดยการศึกษาความเป็นไปได้ของโครงการต้องอาศัยข้อมูลในการวิเคราะห์โครงการดังนี้คือ การศึกษาความเป็นไปได้ทางด้านเศรษฐกิจและสังคม สภาพสังคม พฤติกรรมการใช้งานของผู้ใช้โครงการ เพื่อนำข้อมูลมาออกแบบให้เกิดรูปแบบของสถาปัตยกรรมที่ตอบสนองการใช้งานของผู้ใช้โครงการและสามารถใช้งานได้ดีสำหรับโครงการประเภทนี้

แนวทางการออกแบบสถาปัตยกรรม คือ การออกแบบสถาปัตยกรรมให้สามารถสื่อถึงวิทยาศาสตร์ แนวความคิด คือ “อะตอม” อะตอมคือส่วนที่เล็ก เป็นองค์ประกอบของทุกสิ่งทุกอย่างบนโลก และทุกสิ่งทุกอย่างบนโลกล้วนแต่อยู่ในกฎเกณฑ์ของวิทยาศาสตร์ ซึ่งผู้ใช้งานสามารถรับรู้ถึงแนวความคิดในรูปของสถาปัตยกรรมที่สามารถจับต้องได้และเป็นรูปธรรม
โครงการศูนย์การเรียนรู้ทางวิทยาศาสตร์นครราชสีมา เป็นโครงการของภาครัฐ อยู่ในการดูและของ สำนักงานพัฒนาวิทยาศาสตร์และเทคโนโลยีแห่งชาติ (สวทช. หรือ NSTDA) ตั้งอยู่ที่มหาวิทยาลัยเทคโนโลยีสุรนารี ที่อยู่ 111 ถนนมหาวิทยาลัย อำเภอเมือง จังหวัดนครราชสีมา มีขนาดเนื้อที่ 32 ไร่ เป็นอาคารขนาดใหญ่พิเศษ มีผู้ใช้โครงการหลัก 2 กลุ่ม คือ ผู้เข้าชมนิทรรศการ 402 คน/วันและกลุ่มเจ้าหน้าที่พนักงาน 110 คน พื้นที่ใช้สอยภายในโครงการทั้งหมดโดยประมาณ 12,000 ตารางเมตร
จากผลการศึกษาข้อมูลของโครงการและการออกแบบสรุปได้ว่า ควรคำนึงถึงการออกแบบและจัดวางพื้นที่ของนิทรรศการให้เหมาะสมต่อการใช้งานกับรูปแบบของนิทรรศการ ควรคำนึงถึงพฤติกรรมของผู้ใช้งานภายในโครงการ โดยแบ่งแยกลักษณะการใช้งานของพื้นที่ให้เหมาะสมแก่ผู้ใช้งาน อีกทั้งการออกแบบสถาปัตยกรรมควรคำนึงถึงสิ่งแวดล้อมและพื้นที่รอบข้างนั้นๆด้วย
