งานวิจัยนี้จะทำศึกษาการปรับปรุงคุณภาพดินเหนียวโดยการใช้ซีเมนต์และเศษยางรถยนต์ โดยมีขั้นตอนของงานวิจัยประกอบไปด้วย การทดสอบคุณสมบัติทางกายภาพของดิน ,การทดสอบการบดอัดดินโดยวิธีสูงกว่ามาตรฐาน และทดสอบหาค่ากำลังรับแรงอัดทิศทางเดียว (Unconfined Compression Test, UCS) ในงานวิจัยนี้จะนำค่าต่างๆที่ได้จากผลการทดสอบในข้างต้นมาวิเคราะห์หาค่าความปลอดภัยของเสถียรภาพความลาดของงานดิน (Factor of Safety, F.S.) ซึ่งจะใช้โปรแกรม GeoStudio เข้ามาช่วยในการวิเคราะห์หาค่าความปลอดภัยด้วย โดยความสูงของคันดินที่ใช้ศึกษาจะมีความสูงแตกต่างกันทั้งหมด 4 ระดับ คือ 0.5, 1.0, 1.5 และ 2.0 เมตร จากผลการศึกษาพบว่าเมื่อเพิ่มปริมาณเศษยางรถยนต์มากขึ้นในอัตราส่วนของซีเมนต์เท่าเดิม จะทำให้ค่าความปลอดภัยมีค่าเพิ่มขึ้นร้อยละ 4 ถึง ร้อยละ 6 และถ้ามองในส่วนของปริมาณซีเมนต์ที่เพิ่มมากขึ้นจะสังเกตได้ว่า เมื่อเพิ่มปริมาณซีเมนต์มากขึ้น ค่าความปลอดภัยก็จะมีค่าเพิ่มมากขึ้นด้วย ในอัตราส่วนร้อยละ 1 ถึง ร้อยละ 5

ทั้งนี้เนื่องมาจากความแข็งแรงของดินซีเมนต์ ค่อนข้างที่จะแข็งแรงอยู่แล้ว เมื่อใส่เศษยางรถยนต์เพิ่มเข้าไปในดินซีเมนต์ จะทำให้ดินซีเมนต์มีความยืดหยุ่นเพิ่มมากขึ้น เมื่อมีแรงมากระทำจะส่งผลให้คันดินนั้นเกิดการยืดหยุ่น คันดินจึงสามารถรับแรงได้ดียิ่งขึ้น
