อุทยานแห่งชาติอ่าวพังงา เป็นอุทยานแห่งชาติที่ตั้งอยู่ในจังหวัดพังงา มีเนื้อที่ทั้งหมดประมาณ 400 ตารางกิโลเมตร ครอบคลุมพื้นที่ป่าชายเลนผืนใหญ่ที่อุดมสมบูรณ์คงสภาพธรรมชาติดั้งเดิมอยู่มาก เป็นป่าชายเลนกว้างใหญ่ที่สุดของประเทศไทยในปัจจุบัน โดยมีเนื้อที่ป่าโดยรวมทั้งจังหวัด 190,265 ไร่ คิดเป็นร้อยละ 18.17 ของเนื้อที่ป่าชายเลนทั้งประเทศ (พ.ศ. 2539) เขตอุทยานแห่งชาติอ่าวพังงานับตั้งแต่เขตอำเภอเมืองพังงา เลียบตามชายฝั่งจนถึงเขตอำเภอตะกั่วทุ่ง และบริเวณพื้นน้ำในทะเลอันดามัน ซึ่งมีพื้นที่ร้อยละ 80 ของพื้นที่อุทยานแห่งชาติ ประกอบด้วยเกาะน้อยใหญ่ประมาณ 42 เกาะ เช่น เกาะเขาเต่า เกาะพระอาตเฒ่า เกาะโบยน้อย เกาะโบยใหญ่ เกาะรายาหริ่ง เกาะพนัก เกาะห้อง เกาะปันหยี เขาพิงกัน เป็นต้น
