การวิจัยครั้งนี้ มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อวิเคราะห์หาแนวทางการป้องกันการทุจริตและประพฤติ มิชอบของข้าราชการทหาร เนื่องจากการทุจริตและประพฤติมิชอบในปัจจุบัน นับเป็นภัยคุกคามร้ายแรงต่อประชาชนและประเทศชาติ ที่บ่อนทำลายทั้งเศรษฐกิจ สังคม การเมืองและวัฒนธรรม ส่งผลกระทบต่อการพัฒนาประเทศในทุก ๆด้าน โดยดำเนินการศึกษารูปแบบการทุจริตและประพฤติมิชอบในปัจจุบัน แนวทางในการแก้ปัญหาการทุจริตและประพฤติมิชอบของข้าราชการทหารของสำนักงานคณะกรรมการป้องกันและปราบปรามการทุจริตแห่งชาติ และรูปแบบและวิธีการแก้ปัญหาการทุจริตและประพฤติมิชอบของประเทศต่าง ๆในโลก
ผลการวิจัยพบว่าแนวทางการป้องกันการทุจริตและประพฤติมิชอบของข้าราชการทหาร ควรมีการกำหนดมาตรฐานทางจริยธรรมของข้าราชการทหาร มีกฎ ระเบียบ ข้อบังคับทางทหารที่ชัดเจนในการป้องกันการทุจริตและประพฤติมิชอบและสามารถบังคับใช้ได้จริง การมีระบบตรวจสอบที่ดีและ ที่สำคัญผู้บังคับบัญชาควรมีนโยบายที่ชัดเจนในการป้องกันการทุจริตและประพฤติมิชอบและสุดท้ายคือการน้อมนำปรัชญาเศรษฐกิจพอเพียงมาเป็นแนวทางในการดำรงชีวิตให้กับข้าราชการทหาร รวมถึงระดับหน่วยงานหรือระดับองค์กร
