จังหวัดพิจิตร จัดงานประเพณีการลงแขกเกี่ยวข้าว ประจำปี 2557 สืบสานวิถีชีวิตแบบดั้งเดิมของชาวนาไทย และบูชาพระแม่โพสพ ตามความเชื่อมาแต่โบราณ ทั้งยังเพื่อสร้างความสามัคคี ปรองดองให้กับประชาชนในพื้นที่ผ่านประเพณีการลงแขกเกี่ยวข้าว
วันนี้ 28 พฤศจิกายน 2557 ที่ บริเวณแปลงนาสาธิต อบต.หนองพระ อำเภอวังทรายพูน จังหวัดพิจิตร นายสุรชัย ขันอาสา ผู้ว่าราชการจังหวัดพิจิตร เป็นประธานในพิธีและร่วมเกี่ยวข้าวกับชาวนาอำเภอวังทรายพูน โดยชาวอำเภอวังทรายพูนร่วมกับองค์กรปกครองส่วนท้องถิ่นในพื้นที่ จัดงานประเพณี “ลงแขกเกี่ยวข้าว เกี้ยวสาววังทรายพูน” ครั้งที่ 23 ประจำปี 2557 ทั้งนี้เพื่อสืบสานประเพณีการลงแขกเกี่ยวข้าว วิถีชีวิตแบบดั้งเดิมของชาวนาไทย ที่เมื่อถึงฤดูการทำนา เกษตรกรในหมู่บ้านก็จะมีการ “เอาแรง” หรือขึ้นแรงไว้ช่วยเหลือในการทำนาปลูกข้าวซึ่งกันและกันในทุกขั้นตอน ไม่ว่าจะเป็นขั้นตอนการไถพรวนดิน การหว่านเมล็ดพันธ์ลงในแปลงนาไปจนถึงการลงมือเก็บเกี่ยวผลผลิต หรือเรียกว่า “การลงแขกเกี่ยวข้าว ” ซึ่งเป็นประเพณีวิถีชีวิตของเกษตรกรชาวนาตั้งแต่สมัยบรรพบุรุษ การเก็บเกี่ยวข้าวในอดีตเกษตรกรชาวนาจะ “เคียว” เป็นอุปกรณ์สำหรับเกี่ยวข้าว แต่ปัจจุบันด้วยเทคโนโลยีที่ก้าวล้ำและทันสมัย ทำให้กลุ่มเกษตรกรชาวนาหันมาใช้เครื่องจักรกล รถเกี่ยวข้าวแทน “เคียว” เป็นอุปกรณ์สำหรับการเก็บเกี่ยว ซึ่งเป็นวิถีชีวิตของชาวนาที่เสริมสร้างความสัมพันธ์ ความรัก ความสามัคคี ของคนในหมู่บ้านรวมทั้งยังลดค่าใช้จ่ายในการทำนาได้อีกด้วย และเมื่อถึงฤดูการเก็บเกี่ยวก็จะมีการบูชาพระแม่โพสพ เพื่อตอบแทนพระคุณที่ให้ผลผลิตอันงอกงามตามความเชื่อมาแต่โบราณ
