แนวคิดเกี่ยวกับพฤติกรรมวัยรุ่น
วัยรุ่นมาจากศัพท์ภาษาอังกฤษว่า Adolescence หมายถึง การเจริญเติบโตไปสู่วุฒิภาวะเมื่อกล่าวถึงวัยรุ่น คนทั่วไปมักนึกถึงผู้ที่อยู่ในช่วง ๑๓ – ๑๙ ปี โดยประมาณ หรือหากแบ่งตามชั้นเรียน ก็จะนึกถึงผู้เรียนที่เรียนอยู่ในชั้นประถมศึกษาตอนปลาย จนไปถึงระดับอุดมศึกษาปีต้นๆ กุญชรี ค้าขาย (๒๕๔๒: ๑)
