ประวัติ
จังหวัดกำแพงเพชร เป็นเมืองเก่าที่นับว่ามีความสำคัญทางประวัติศาสตร์และเจริญรุ่งเรืองมาตั้งแต่สมัยทวารวดี เป็นที่ตั้งของเมืองโบราณหลายเมือง เช่น เมืองชากังราว นครชุม ไตรตรึงษ์ เทพนคร และเมืองคณฑี นอกจากนี้เมืองกำแพงเพชรยังเป็นเมืองที่สองที่สมเด็จพระเจ้าตากสินมหาราชได้ครองเมือง มีบรรดาศักดิ์เป็น " พระยาวชิรปราการ" ต่อมาในปี พ . ศ. 2459 ได้เปลี่ยนเมืองกำแพงเพชรเป็นจังหวัดกำแพงเพชร
