กีฬาประจำชาติ สาธารณรัฐประชาธิปไตยประชาชนลาว (สปป.ลาว) (The Lao People’s Democratic Republic of Lao PDR)

กีฬาพื้นบ้านลูกข่าง เป็นกีฬาสาธิตในการแข่งขันกีฬาซีเกมส์ครั้งที่ 25 ซึ่งประเทศลาวเป็น เจ้าภาพจัดการแข่งขัน มีวิธีการเล่นเหมือนกับประเทศไทยลูกข่างถือเป็นการละเล่นชนิดหนึ่ง ที่มีการเล่นโดยการผูกด้วยเชือก และขว้างลูกขว้างลงพื้นให้เกิดการหมุน โดยมีกติกาการเล่น (1) หากขว้างลูกข่างไม่หมุนหรือออกนอกวงถือว่าแพ้ (2) ผู้แพ้จะต้องนำลูกข่างของตนวางในวงกลมเพื่อให้คนอื่นใช้ลูกข่างที่พันเชือกขว้างไปบนลูกข่างนั้นเป็นการลงโทษ

อุปกรณ์ที่ใช้ในการเล่น

1.ลูกข่าง ส่วนมากจะทำจากไม้มะยมกลึงมีตะปูเป็นเดือยแหลมตรงกลางคนละ 1 ลูก

2.เชือกยาวประมาณ 40-50 เซนติเมตร ปลายเชือกด้านหนึ่งผูกด้วยไม้ หรือร้อยด้วยฝาเบียร์

3.วงกลมขนาดเส้นผ่าศูนย์กลางประมาณ 50-60 เซนติเมตร

วิธีเล่น

ในการเล่นลูกข่างไม่จำกัดจำนวนผู้เล่น ก่อนเล่นจะขีดวงกลมขนาด 50-60 เซนติเมตรบนพื้นดิน แล้วจัดลำดับการเล่นตามวิธีการจัดลำดับก่อนการเล่นดังกล่าวแล้วก่อนเล่นทุกคนใช้เชือกพันลูกข่างของตน โดยพันจากปลายเดือยขึ้นมาจนถึงตัวลูกข่าง แล้วถือชายหนึ่งไว้ระหว่างซอกนิ้วชี้และนิ้วกลาง ส่วนหัวแม่มือหงายรองรับปลายเดือยลูกข่างไว้ เมื่อเริ่มเล่นผู้เล่นจะขว้างลูกข่างตกถึงพื้นจะหมุนหากลูกข่างของผู้ใดไม่หมุน หรือออกนอกวงถือว่าแพ้จะถูกทำโทษด้วยการให้เจ้าของลูกข่างนำลูกข่างของตนวางไว้ในวงกลม ให้ผู้อื่นนำลูกข่างที่พันเชือกเตรียมไว้ขว้างลงไปบนลูกข่างนั้นเรียกว่า “โจ๊ะลูกข่าง” ทีละคน หากลูกข่างทำจากไม้ไม่ดีจะแตก แต่ถ้าทำจากไม้มะยมจะเป็นเพียงรอยเจาะเท่านั้น
