โครงงานนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาความคุ้มค่าทางด้านเศรษฐศาสตร์ของการใช้วัสดุโครงสร้างแบบประหยัดพลังงานกรณีศึกษาบ้านชั้นเดี่ยวชั้นเดียว พร้อมกับการสร้างเครื่องมื้ออย่างง่ายช่วยในการตัดสินใจ โดยการนำข้อมูลที่ได้นำมาศึกษา จากข้อมูลวัสดุและค่าจากตารางต่างๆ จากการศึกษาและวิเคราะห์โดยการใช้โปรแกรม พบว่าการเลือกใช้วัสดุโครงสร้างประหยัดพลังงานแทนโครงสร้างอาคารแบบที่ไม่ใช้อุปกรณ์ประหยัดพลังงานเพื่อเปรียบเทียบความคุ้มค่าทางด้านเศรษฐศาสตร์และค่าการถ่ายเทความร้อนผ่านกรอบอาคาร OTTV และค่าการถ่ายเทความร้อนรวมของหลังคาอาคาร RTTV โดยการใช้การคำนวณทางคณิตศาสตร์ จะได้ค่าการถ่ายเทความร้อนรวมของอาคารและหลังคา จึงควรเปลี่ยนมาใช้วัสดุโครงสร้างแบบประหยัดพลังงาน จากนั้นนำข้อมูลที่ได้มาเปรียบเทียบระหว่าง 2 ค่า ว่าควรเลือกเปลี่ยนมาใช้วัสดุอุปกรณ์ที่เหมาะสมและคุ้มค่าแก่การลงทุน
จากผลการศึกษาพบว่า เมื่อเปลี่ยนจากวัสดุโครงสร้างอาคารแบบที่ไม่ใช้อุปกรณ์ประหยัดพลังงาน ไปเป็นวัสดุโครงสร้างแบบประหยัดพลังงาน จะมีค่าใช้จ่ายเพิ่มเดิมเพราะจากวัสดุโครงสร้างอาคารแบบที่ไม่ใช้อุปกรณ์ประหยัดพลังงานมีราคาที่ถูกกว่าวัสดุโครงสร้างแบบประหยัดพลังงาน เพราะใช้อุปกรณ์เสริมในโครงสร้างอาคารช่วยลดความร้อนเข้าอาคาร จึงมีราคาที่สูงกว่า แค่เมื่อเทียบระยะคืนทุนและความคุ้มค่าทางด้านเศรษฐศาสตร์ของการใช้อุปกรณ์เสริมในโครงสร้าง พบว่าคุ้มที่จะลงทุน
ผลจากการวิเคราะห์ทั้ง 2 กรณี บ่งชี้ให้เห็นว่า การเลือกวัสดุโครงสร้างแบบประหยัดพลังงานสามารถลดค่าการถ่ายเทความร้อนรวมของอาคารและหลังคาได้มากกว่าการใช้วัสดุโครงสร้างอาคารแบบที่ไม่ใช้อุปกรณ์ประหยัดพลังงาน ดังนั้น การเปลี่ยนจากวัสดุโครงสร้างอาคารแบบที่ไม่ใช้อุปกรณ์ประหยัดพลังงาน ไปเป็นวัสดุโครงสร้างแบบประหยัดพลังงาน สามารถช่วยลดค่าการถ่ายเทความร้อนกับให้ระยะคืนทุนและความคุ้มค่าทางด้านเศรษฐศาสตร์ได้เร็วขึ้น
