วิธีการป้องกันขยะอิเล็กทรอนิกส์เพื่อไม่ให้เกิดผลกระทบต่อสิ่งแวดล้อม ทำได้โดยให้ลดการนำเศษเหลือทิ้งของผลิตภัณฑ์ไฟฟ้าและอิเล็กทรอนิกส์ที่หมดอายุการใช้งานแล้วนํากลับมาใช้ใหม่ เพื่อลดความเสี่ยงและผลกระทบจากปริมาณขยะ
