ยุคโคโชซ็อนอาณาจักรโคโชซ็อน หรือ โช
ยุคโคโชซ็อน
อาณาจักรโคโชซ็อน หรือ โชซ็อนโบราณ ตั้งอยู่ตรงบริเวณตอนใต้ของแมนจูเรียและตอนเหนือของคาบสมุทรเกาหลี ก่อตั้งขึ้นโดยกษัตริย์ ทันกุน วังกอม เมื่อ 2333 ปีก่อนคริสต์ศักราช มีเมืองหลวงคือ วังกอมซอง (เปียงยางในปัจจุบัน) และล่มสลายลงในปี พ.ศ. 435 โดยการเข้ายึดครองโดยกองทัพของราชวงศ์ฮั่นที่ปกครองประเทศจีน ราชวงศ์ฮั่นได้แบ่งอาณาจักรโกโชซ็อนออกเป็น 4 แคว้นคือ แคว้นนังนัง แคว้นเหลียวตง แคว้นเสิ่นตู และแคว้นเซินฟาน
ยุคหกอาณาจักร
ในยุคนี้บนคาบสมุทรเกาหลีและในแมนจูเรียมีอาณาจักรต่าง ๆ ก่อตัวขึ้นจำนวนหกอาณาจักร คือ
1. อาณาจักรพูยอ ตั้งอยู่บริเวณทางตะวันออกเฉียงเหนือของแมนจูเรีย ก่อตั้งโดย พระเจ้าแฮบูรู ภายหลังถูกแบ่งออกเป็นสองอาณาจักร คือ ตงพูยอ และ พุกพูยอ อาณาจักรตงพูยอปกครองโดยพระเจ้าแทโซ ส่วนอาณาจักรพุกพูยอภายหลังเปลี่ยนชื่อเป็นอาณาจักรโคกูรยอปกครองโดยพระเจ้าดงเมียงซอง อาณาจักรตงพูยอถูกผนวกเข้ากับอาณาจักรโคกูรยอหลังการสิ้นพระชนม์ของพระเจ้าแทโซ
2. อาณาจักรทงเย เดิมทงเยเป็นมณฑลหนึ่งโกโชซ็อน หลังจากโกโชซ็อนล้มสลายลงและถูกแบ่งออกเป็น 4 แคว้นนั้น มณฑลทงเยจึงได้ก่อตั้งขึ้นเป็นอาณาจักร อยู่บริเวณทางตะวันออกเฉียงเหนือของคาบสมุทรเกาหลี อาณาจักรทงเยถูกผนวกเข้ากับอาณาจักรโคกูรยอในปี ค.ศ. 400 สมัยพระเจ้ากวางแกโตมหาราช
3. อาณาจักรอกจอ เดิมอกจอเป็นเพียงชนเผ่าเล็กๆที่ก่อตัวขึ้นบนคาบสมุทรเกาหลีในพุทธศตวรรษที่ 2 อาณาจักรอกจอตั้งอยู่ทางตะวันออกเฉียงเหนือของคาบสมุทรเกาหลีทอดตัวยาวตามทะเลญี่ปุ่น ทิศเหนือและทิศตะวันตกมีพื้นที่ติดกับอาณาจักรโคกูรยอทิศใต้มีพื้นที่ติดกับอาณาจักรทงเย อาณาจักรอกจอถูกแบ่งออกเป็นสองอาณาจักร คือ ตงอกจอ และพุกอกจอหรือชิคูรู อาณาจักรอกจอทั้งสองถูกผนวกเข้ากับอาณาจักรโคกูรยอในพุทธศตวรรษที่ 5 สมัยพระเจ้ากวางแกโตมหาราช
4. อาณาจักรมาฮัน ตั้งอยู่บริเวณตะวันตกเฉียงใต้ของคาบสมุทรเกาหลี ก่อตั้งขึ้นโดยพระเจ้าจุนที่อพยพประชาชนมาจากโกโชซ็อน เมื่อ 194 ปีก่อนคริสต์ศักราช ภายหลังอาณาจักรมาฮั่นถูกผนวกเข้ากับอาณาจักรแพ็กเจ
5. อาณาจักรพยอนฮัน ตั้งอยู่บริเวณตอนใต้ของคาบสมุทรเกาหลี ก่อตั้งเมื่อพุทธศตวรรษที่ 4 พยอนฮันเป็นอาณาจักรสืบต่อจากอาณาจักรจินที่เคยรุ่งเรืองในปลายยุคโกโชซ็อนทางตอนใต้ของคาบสมุทรเกาหลี ภายหลังพยอนฮันถูกผนวกเข้ากับอาณาจักรคายา
6. อาณาจักรจินฮัน ตั้งอยู่ทางตะวันออกเฉียงใต้ของคาบสมุทรเกาหลี รุ่งเรืองอยู่ระหว่างพุทธศตวรรษที่ 1 ถึง พุทธศตวรรษที่ 4 ภายหลังถูกผนวกเข้ากับอาณาจักรชิลลา
ยุคสามอาณาจักรแรก
ในยุคนี้คาบสมุทรเกาหลีถูกปกครองโดยสามอาณาจักรที่รุ่งเรืองนับพันปีบนคาบสมุทรเกาหลี คือ
อาณาจักรโคกูรยอ มีพื้นที่ตั้งแต่บริเวณตอนเหนือของคาบสมุทรเกาหลีตอนใต้และตอนกลางของคาบสมุทรเหลียวตง เป็นอาณาจักรที่มีกองทัพที่เข้มแข็งเป็นอย่างมาก ก่อตั้งขึ้นโดยพระเจ้าดงเมียงซอง เมื่อ 37 ปีก่อนคริสต์ศักราช เดิมโคกูรยอคืออาณาจักรพุกพูยอ พระเจ้าดงเมียงซองทรงเปลี่ยนชื่อเป็นอาณาจักรเป็นโคกูรยอ เมืองหลวงแห่งแรกคือ เมืองโจลบอน ในสมัยพระเจ้ายูริแห่งโคกูรยอได้ย้ายเมืองหลวงไปที่เมืองคุงแน และในสมัยพระเจ้าจางซูมหาราชได้ย้ายเมืองหลวงไปที่เมืองเปียงยาง อาณาจักรโคกูรยอล่มสลายลงเมื่อปี ค.ศ. 668 รัชสมัยพระเจ้าบอจาง จากการโจมตีของราชวงศ์ถังที่ปกครองประเทศจีนและอาณาจักรชิลลาที่อยู่ทางตอนใต้ อาณาจักรโคกูรยอมีอายุถึง 705 ปี
อาณาจักรแพ็กเจ ตั้งอยู่บริเวณตะวันตกเฉียงใต้ของคาบสมุทรเกาหลี ก่อตั้งขึ้นเมื่อ 18 ปีก่อนคริสต์ศักราช โดยพระเจ้าอนจอซึ่งเป็นพระราชโอรสของพระเจ้าดงเมียงซอง พระมเหสีโซซอโนพระราชมารดาของพระเจ้าอนจอทรงคิดจะตั้งอาณาจักรแห่งใหม่ขึ้นทางตอนใต้ ขึ้นเป็นอาณาจักรพี่น้องกับอาณาจักรโคกูรยอจึงได้อพยพประชาชนมาจากโคกูรยอและรวบรวมชนเผ่าต่างๆ เข้าด้วยกันก่อตั้งขึ้นเป็น อาณาจักรซิปเจ ปกครองโดยพระเจ้าอนจอภายหลังได้เปลี่ยนชื่อเป็นอาณาจักรแพ็กเจ มีเมืองหลวงแห่งแรกคือเมืองวิรเย ในรัชสมัยพระเจ้ามุนจูได้ทรงย้ายเมืองหลวงไปที่เมืองอุงจิน และในรัชสมัยพระเจ้าซองได้ย้ายเมืองหลวงไปที่เมืองซาบี อาณาจักรแพ็กเจล่มสลายลงเมื่อปี ค.ศ. 660 รัชสมัยพระเจ้าอึยจาจากการโจมตีของอาณาจักรชิลลา อาณาจักรแพ็กเจมีอายุถึง 678 ปี
อาณาจักรชิลลา ตั้งอยู่บริเวณตะวันออกเฉียงใต้ของคาบสมุทรเกาหลี ก่อตั้งขึ้นเมื่อ 57 ปีก่อนคริสต์ศักราช โดยพระเจ้าฮยอกกอเซกษัตริย์พระองค์แรกแห่งชิลลา ทรงรวบรวมชนเผ่าต่างๆเข้าด้วยกันจนกลายเป็นอาณาจักรชิลลา มีเมืองหลวงอยู่ที่เมืองคยองจู อาณาจักรชิลลาสามารถรวบรวมอาณาจักรแพ็กเจและอาณาจักรโคกูรยอเข้าเป็นอาณาจักรเดียวกันได้ในปี ค.ศ. 668 รัชสมัยพระเจ้ามูยอล
อาณาจักรคายา ตั้งอยู่บริเวณตอนใต้ของคาบสมุทรเกาหลีแถบแม่น้ำนักดง ประกอบด้วยห้าราชวงศ์ คือ ราชวงศ์กึมควันคายา ราชวงศ์โกรยองคายา ราชวงศ์พีฮวาคายา ราชวงศ์อาราคายา และราชวงศ์ซองซันคายา ราชวงศ์หลักคือราชวงศ์กึมควันคายา ก่อตั้งขึ้นโดยพระเจ้าซูโร เมื่อ 42 ปีก่อนคริสต์ศักราช มีตำนานว่าพระชายาของพระเจ้าซูโรเป็นองค์หญิงที่เดินทางมาจากประเทศอินเดียพระนามว่าองค์หญิงฮอฮวางอ๊ก ในรัชสมัยพระเจ้าคูฮย็องอาณาจักรคายาได้ถูกผนวกเข้ากับอาณาจักรชิลลาในรัชสมัยพระเจ้าบอปฮึง อาณาจักรคายามีอายุถึง 604
ยุคอาณาจักรเหนือใต้
เมื่ออาณาจักรชิลลาสามารถรวบรวมอาณาจักรแพ็กเจและอาณาจักรโคกูรยอเข้าด้วยกันได้ในปี ค.ศ. 668 แต่โดยที่จริงแล้วอาณาจักรชิลลาไม่ได้ครอบครองดินแดนทั้งหมดไว้เพียงแต่ครองครองดินแดนทางใต้เท่านั้น โดยเฉพาะดินแดนของอาณาจักรโคกูรยอชิลลาครอบครองเพียงบางส่วนเท่านั้น อาณาจักรชิลลาได้ยกดินแดนบนคาบสมุทรเหลียวตงให้แก่ราชวงศ์ถังของประเทศจีนหลังสิ้นสุดสงครามชิลลา-ถัง แต่ดินแดนทางเหนือจรดไปถึงแมนจูเรียตกอยู่ในการควบคุมของอาณาจักรเกิดใหม่อีกอาณาจักรหนึ่ง ชื่อว่า อาณาจักรพัลแฮ หรือเรียกว่า ป๋อไห่ ในชื่อเรียกตามภาษาจีน ในยุคสมัยนี้ นักประวัติศาสตร์บางท่านจึงจัดว่าเป็นยุคอาณาจักรเหนือใต้ของเกาหลี ประกอบด้วยสองอาณาจักรคือ
อาณาจักรพัลแฮ ตั้งอยู่ทางตะวันออกของแมนจูเรียและตอนเหนือของคาบสมุทรเกาหลีกับคาบสมุทรเหลียวตง ก่อตั้งเมื่อปี ค.ศ. 698 โดยพระเจ้า
