การศึกษาครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อ

การศึกษาครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อ
1) พัฒนาทักษะการอ่านภาษาอังกฤษเพื่อความเข้าใจโดยใช้แผนภูมิความหมายของนักเรียนชั้นมัธยมศึกษาปีที่ 6 ให้มีประสิทธิภาพตามเกณฑ์ 80/80
2) เพื่อเปรียบเทียบผลสัมฤทธิ์การพัฒนาทักษะการอ่านภาษาอังกฤษเพื่อความเข้าใจโดยใช้แผนภูมิความหมายของนักเรียนชั้นมัธยมศึกษาปีที่ 6 ระหว่างก่อนเรียนและหลังเรียน และ
3) ศึกษาความพึงพอใจของนักเรียนที่มีต่อการจัดการเรียนรู้การพัฒนาทักษะการอ่านภาษาอังกฤษเพื่อความเข้าใจโดยใช้แผนภูมิความหมายของนักเรียนชั้นมัธยมศึกษาปีที่ 6

กลุ่มตัวอย่างที่ใช้ในการศึกษาคือ นักเรียนชั้นมัธยมศึกษาปีที่ 6 ภาคเรียนที่ 2 ปีการศึกษา 2558 ห้อง 2 โรงเรียนโพนสวรรค์ราษฎร์พัฒนา อำเภอโพนสวรรค์ จังหวัดนครพนม จำนวน 12 คน ซึ่งได้มาโดยวิธีการสุ่มอย่างง่ายโดยใช้ห้องเรียนเป็นหน่วยสุ่ม

เครื่องมือที่ใช้เก็บรวบรวมข้อมูลได้แก่
แผนการจัดการเรียนรู้มีจำนวน 5 แผน ๆ ละ 2 ชั่วโมง
แบบทดสอบวัดความเข้าใจในการอ่านภาษาอังกฤษเป็นแบบปรนัย 4 ตัวเลือก จำนวน 20 ข้อ
แบบสอบถามความพึงพอใจที่มีต่อการจัดการเรียนรู้การพัฒนาทักษะการอ่านเพื่อความเข้าใจโดยใช้แผนภูมิความหมายของนักเรียนชั้นมัธยมศึกษาปีที่6 จำนวน 10 ข้อ

สถิติที่ใช้ในการวิเคราะห์ข้อมูลได้แก่ ค่าเฉลี่ย ร้อยละ และส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน
