การศึกษาวิจัยนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์ เพื่อประเมินผลสัมฤทธิ์ทางการเรียนกลุ่มสาระการเรียนรู้วิทยาศาสตร์ของนักเรียนชั้นประถมศึกษาปีที่ 5 ระหว่างโรงเรียนทดลองและโรงเรียนคู่เทียบและเปรียบเทียบผลสัมฤทธิ์ทางการเรียนระหว่างนักเรียนชายและนักเรียนหญิงโรงเรียนเขตพื้นที่สามจังหวัดชายแดนภาคใต้ กลุ่มเป้าหมาย คือ นักเรียนที่ใช้ภาษามลายูถิ่นเป็นภาษาแม่ใน 3 จังหวัดชายแดนภาคใต้ ปัตตานี ยะลา และนราธิวาส ที่กำลังศึกษาในระดับประถมศึกษาปีที่ 5 ในปีการศึกษา 2557 แบ่งเป็นโรงเรียนทดลองและโรงเรียนคู่เทียบรวม 6 โรงเรียน นักเรียนจำนวน 134 คน เครื่องมือเก็บรวบรวมข้อมูลคือแบบทดสอบกลุ่มสาระการเรียนรู้วิทยาศาสตร์ วิเคราะห์ข้อมูลเชิงปริมาณโดยใช้ค่าเฉลี่ย ร้อยละ การทดสอบความแปรปรวนสองทาง (Two way Anova) การทดสอบที (t-test) และขนาดอิทธิพล (effect size) ผลการประเมินสรุปว่า นักเรียนชั้นประถมศึกษาปีที่ 5 ในโรงเรียนทดลองมีผลสัมฤทธิ์ทางการเรียนสูงกว่านักเรียนในโรงเรียนคู่เทียบอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับ.01 มีขนาดอิทธิพลในระดับมาก (d = 0.82) โดยที่นักเรียนโรงเรียนทดลองมีจำนวนร้อยละของผู้สอบผ่านเกณฑ์มากกว่านักเรียนโรงเรียนคู่เทียบ และการเปรียบเทียบผลสัมฤทธิ์ทางการเรียนกลุ่มสาระการเรียนรู้วิทยาศาสตร์ระหว่างนักเรียนชายและนักเรียนหญิง พบว่า นักเรียนหญิงมีผลสัมฤทธิ์ทางการเรียนสูงกว่านักเรียนชายอย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับ.01 มีอิทธิพลขนาดระดับปานกลาง(d=0.47) โดยที่นักเรียนโรงเรียนหญิงมีจำนวนร้อยละของผู้สอบผ่านเกณฑ์มากกว่าชาย
