พระมหาเจดีย์สี่รัชกาล เป็นพระมหาเจด

พระมหาเจดีย์สี่รัชกาล เป็นพระมหาเจดีย์ประจำรัชกาลที่ ๑-๔ ประดิษฐานอยู่ในกำแพงแก้วสีขาว วัดพระเชตุพนวิมลมังคลาราม หรือวัดโพธิ์ ท่าเตียน กทม. ประวัติของพระมหาเจดีย์สี่รัชกาลนั้น มีที่มาดังนี้

พระมหาเจดีย์ประจำรัชกาลที่ ๓ พระบาทสมเด็จพระนั่งเกล้าเจ้าอยู่หัว รัชกาลที่ ๓ โปรดเกล้าฯ ให้สร้างเป็นส่วนพระองค์ เพื่อถวายเป็นพุทธบูชา องค์พระเจดีย์ประดับด้วยกระเบื้องเคลือบสีเหลือง พระบาทสมเด็จพระจอมเกล้าเจ้าอยู่หัว รัชกาลที่ ๔ ได้พระราชทานนามภายหลังว่า “พระมหาเจดีย์มุนีบัตบริขาร”
