ประวัติวัดบางโพโอมาวาส
วัดบางโพโอมาส เป็นวัดเก่าแก่วัดหนึ่งมีอายุนานนับร้อย ๆ ปี ตั้งอยุ่ในพื้นที่ ๘ ไร่เศษ ๆ เดิมชื่อ วัดโพคาราม ต่อมาได้เปลี่ยนชื่อเสียใหม่ว่า "วัดบางโพโอมาวาส" เมื่อราว ปี พ.ศ. ๒๔๘๒ สมัยอาจารย์ ห้อย วุฑฒีญาโณ (มงคงฤกษ) เป็นเจ้าอาวาส แต่จะสร้างขึ้นเมื่อใดใครเป็นผู้ริเริ่มมิได้ปรากฎ เพราะไม่มีผู้ใดได้ทำประวัติขึ้นไว้ จึงสืบหาประวัติที่แท้จริงไม่ได้ เท่าที่สอบถามคนเฒ่าคนแก่ดู ก็หามีผู้ใดให้ความกระจ่างแจ้งเกี่ยวกับเรื่องนี้ไม่ ทราบเพียงว่านับจากปี พ.ศ.๒๔๔๐ เป็นต้นมาจนถึงปัจจุบันนี้ พ.ศ.๒๕๕๒ รวม ๑๑๕ ปี มีเจ้าอาวาสปกครองวัดรวม ๑๐รูป
