25 กุมภาพันธ์ 2535 โรงเรียนราชสีมาวิทยาลัยขออนุญาตกรมสามัญศึกษา กระทรวงศึกษาธิการ
จัดตั้งโรงเรียนราชสีมาวิทยาลัย สาขา
25 มีนาคม 2535 กรมสามัญศึกษาอนุมัติให้ดำเนินการจัดตั้งโรงเรียนราชสีมาวิทยาลัยสาขา โดยให้รับนักเรียนชั้น ม.1 ชายและหญิงรวมกันจำ นวน 6 ห้อง มีนักเรียน 240 คน
1 กันยายน 2535 นางวัลภา ตัณฑเศรณีวัฒน์ ผู้ช่วยผู้อำนวยการโรงเรียนราชสีมาวิทยาลัย ได้รับการแต่งตั้งให้เป็น หัวหน้าโรงเรียนราชสีมาวิทยาลัยสาขา
30 ธันวาคม 2535 นายเสวต สุรัยรัตน์ ผู้ช่วยผู้อำนวยการ โรงเรียนราชสีมาวิทยาลัย ได้รับการแต่งตั้ง ให้เป็นหัวหน้า โรงเรียนราชสีมาวิทยาลัยสาขาแทน นางวัลภา ตัณฑเศรณีวัฒน์ ซึ่งไปดำรงตำแหน่งเป็นผู้อำนวยการ โรงเรียนกุดจิกวิทยา
14 กันยายน 2537 สภาตำบลบ้านใหม่และจังหวัดนครราชสีมา ได้อนุญาตให้ใช้ที่ดินสาธารณประโยชน์ สระหนองบัว จำนวน 58 ไร่2 งาน 18 ตารางวา ตำบลบ้านใหม่ อำเภอเมือง จังหวัดนครราชสีมา
เป็นสถานที่ก่อตั้งโรงเรียนราชสีมาวิทยาลัยสาขา
4 พฤศจิกายน 2537 นายเสวต สุรัยรัตน์ ขอกลับไปปฏิบัติหน้าที่ผู้ช่วยผู้อำนวยการ โรงเรียนราชสีมาวิทยาลัย เช่นเดิม
11 พฤศจิกายน 2537 กระทรวงศึกษาธิการประกาศจัดตั้งโรงเรียนมัธยมศึกษาขึ้นอีก 1 แห่ง
โดยให้ชื่อว่า โรงเรียนราชสีมาวิทยาลัย ๒
18 ธันวาคม 2539 กรมสามัญศึกษามีคำสั่งที่ 5847/2539 แต่งตั้งให้ นางวัลภา ตัณฑเศรณีวัฒน์ ผู้อำนวยการโรงเรียนกุดจิกวิทยา เป็นผู้อำนวยการ โรงเรียนราชสีมาวิทยาลัย ๒

29 มกราคม 2540 ได้รับการอนุมัติให้รับนักเรียนชั้น ม.4 จำนวน 2 ห้อง รวม 80 คน
3 พฤศจิกายน 2540 ได้ย้ายออกจากโรงเรียนราชสีมาวิทยาลัย มายังโรงเรียนราชสีมาวิทยาลัย ๒ ที่สร้างใหม่ ถนน มิตรภาพ ตำบลบ้านใหม่ อำเภอเมืองจังหวัดนครราชสีมา
29 ธันวาคม 2543 กรมสามัญศึกษามีคำสั่งที่ 2202/2542 ให้ นายมโน ศรีวัฒนพงศ์ ผู้อำนวยการ
โรงเรียนธารปราสาทเพชรวิทยา รักษาการในตำแหน่ง ผู้อำนวยการโรงเรียนราชสีมาวิทยาลัย ๒
4 มิถุนายน 2544 กรมสามัญศึกษามีคำสั่งที่ 912/2544 ให้ นายสุกิจ ชันษา ผู้อำนวยการ โรงเรียนมหิศราธิบดี มาดำรง ตำแหน่งผู้อำนวยการโรงเรียนราชสีมาวิทยาลัย ๒
20 พฤศจิกายน 2545 กรมสามัญศึกษามีคำสั่งที่ 2095/2545 ให้ นายวิวัฒน์ชัย เศรษฐชัย ผู้อำนวยการ
โรงเรียนขามทะเลสอ มาดำรงตำแหน่งผู้อำนวย การโรงเรียนราชสีมาวิทยาลัย ๒
30 ตุลาคม 2546 นายธวัชชัย สีสิมมา มาดำรงตำแหน่งผู้อำนวยการโรงเรียนราชสีมาวิทยาลัย ๒

23 กุมภาพันธ์ 2555 โรงเรียนราชสีมาวิทยาลัย ๒ ได้รับพระราชทานนาม เปลี่ยนเป็น โรงเรียนอุบลรัตนราชกัญญาราชวิทยาลัยนครราชสีมาเพื่อเทิดพระเกียรติทูลกระหม่อมหญิงอุบลรัตนราชกัญญาสิริวัฒนาพรรณวดี เนื่องในวโรกาสพระชามายุครบ 60 พรรษา
สีประจำ แดง ขาว
สีแดง หมายถึง ความกล้าหาญ เสียสละ
สีขาว หมายถึง ความซื่อสัตย์ บริสุทธิ์
ดังนั้น สีแดง-ขาว จึงหมายถึง ความกล้าหาญ เสียสละ ความซื่อสัตย์ บริสุทธิ์
