สบู่เป็นเครื่องสำอางชนิดหนึ่งที่ใช้สำหรับทำความสะอาดร่างกาย เพราะในแต่ละวันทุกคนต้องทำกิจกรรมต่างๆ และล้วนต้องเจอกับสิ่งสกปรกต่างๆ ไม่ว่าจะเป็นฝุ่นควันหรือมลพิษต่างๆ ซึ่งสิ่งสกปรกที่ติดอยู่ตามร่างกายเหล่านี้ อาจนำมาซึ่งเชื้อโรคต่างๆ และอาจก่อให้เกิดโรคบางชนิดได้
