ที่มาและความสำคัญ
ในปัจจุบันประเทศไทยมีทั้งหมด 77 จังหวัด มี 4 ภาค ได้แก่ ภาคเหนือ ภาคกลาง ภาคใต้ และภาคตะวันออกเฉียงเหนือ มีประชากรทั้งหมด 64,871,000 คน จังหวัดอุทัยธานีเป็นจังหวัด 1 ใน 22 จังหวัดของภาคเหนือ มี ค อำเภอ ได้แก่ อำเภอเมือง อำเภอหนองขาหย่าง อำเภอหนองฉาง อำเภอทัพทัน อำเภอสว่างอารมณ์ อำเภอลานสัก อำเภอบ้านไร่ และอำเภอห้วยคต
วัดท่าซุง(จันทราราม) คั้งอยู่หมู่ที่ 2 ตำบลน้ำซึม ห่างจากอำเภอเมืองประมาณ 5 กิโลเมตร แต่เดิมชื่อว่า วัดจันทราราม ตั้งชื่อตามอดีตเจ้าอาวาสชื่อ จันทร์ สร้างขึ้นเมื่อสมัยกรุงศรีอยุธยา แบ่งออกเป็น 2 ส่วน คือ ส่วนแรกเป็นบริเวณที่ตั้งวัดเก่า มีโบสถ์ขนาดเล็ก ภายในมีภาพจิตรกรรมฝาผนังเรื่องพุทธประวัติ ฝีมือช่างพื้นบ้านปัจจุบัน วัดมีเนื้อที่ทั้งหมด 500 ไร่ โดยแยกเป็นที่วัด 280 ไร่,เนื้อที่ป่า 230 ไร่,ศาลา 1 ไร่,ศาลา 2 ไร่,ศาลา 3 ไร่,ศาลา 12 ไร่,มหาวิหาร 100 เมตร,วิหารสมเด็จองค์ปฐม,วิหารสมเด็จพระศรีอรียเมตไตรย์ สิ่งก่อสร้างที่เลื่องลือกันมากที่สุด คือ ศาลา 12 ไร่และมหาวิหาร 100 เมตร มหาวิหารหรือวิหารแก้ว 100 เมตร เป็นตึก 2 ชั้นหลังคาเป็นจัตุรมุข 3 ยอด ด้านนอกด้านในปิดกระจกจากชั้น 2 ถึงยอดหลังคา ภายในปิดกระจกที่เสาทุกต้น ข้างฝาและเพดานข้างวิหาร ภายในวิหารมีพระประธานแบบทรงพระพุทธชินราช จ.พิษณุโลก มีรูปหล่อพระเดชคุณหลวงพ่อลักษณะยืนถือไม้เท้า เพดานวิหารมีช่อไฟระย้าทั้ง ช่อใหญ่และช่อเล็กรวมทั้งหมด 119 ช่อ และมีบุษบกตั้งศพพระเดชพระคุณหลวงพ่อตั้งอยู่ในมหาวิหารนี้ด้วย
เนื่องจากวัดท่าซุงหรือวัดจันทรารามเป็นวัดที่มีชื่อเสียงและมีนักท่องเที่ยวทั้งในประเทศและต่างประเทศเดินทางมาสักการบูชา มาเยี่ยมชม มาท่องเที่ยวกันอย่างมากมาย แต่ก็ยังไม่เป็นที่รู้จักกันอย่างแพร่หลาย ทางกลุ่มของข้าพเจ้าจึงเล็งเห็นว่าควรที่จะทำโครงงานเรื่องนี้ เพื่อเชิญชวนผู้คนให้เข้ามาท่องเที่ยวและเยี่ยมชมสถานที่ทางประวัติศาสตร์ที่สวยงามตระการตาของจังหวัดอุทัยธานี
