อาเซียนส่งเสริมการท่องเที่ยวในภูมิภาคอย่างไร?

ประเทศสมาชิกอาเซียนร่วมมือกันเพื่อการส่งเสริมการท่องเที่ยว และยังมีโครงการจัดทำรายการโทรทัศน์ที่เกี่ยวกับการท่องเที่ยวในอาเซียนเพื่อเผยแพร่ ในปี 2545 อาเซียนได้จัดทำความตกลงด้านการท่องเที่ยว เพื่อให้ประเทศสมาชิกอาเซียนเปิดเสรีด้านอุตสาหกรรมการท่องเที่ยวและส่งเสริมการท่องเที่ยวร่วมกันในภูมิภาค รวมถึงร่วมมือกันในการเสริมสร้างความปลอดภัยให้กับนักท่องเที่ยวอาเซียน
นอกจากนี้ อาเซียนยังได้ริเริ่มความร่วมมือในการจัดทำความตกลงการตรวจตราเพียงครั้งเดียว (Single Visa) แต่ใช้เดินทางเข้าได้หลายประเทศในลักษณะเดียวกับ Schengen Visa ของยุโรป ซึ่งนำร่องโดยไทยและกัมพูชา
