ประวัติการสร้างวัดชลธาราสิงเห
ตามที่ได้สืบสวนค้นคว้า และเล่าต่อเนื่องกันได้ความว่า ผู้ที่ได้สร้างวัดนี้ เดิมชื่อ ท่านพุฒ ได้เป็นพระภิกษุอยู่ ๖ พรรษา ได้เป็นเจ้าอาวาสอยู่ วัดบางเตย หมู่ที่ ๓ ตำบลบางขุนทอง อำเภอตากใบ ท่านได้เดินทางไปกรุงเทพฯ เมื่อกลับมาจากกรุงเทพฯ ท่านได้มาสร้างวัดเกาะสวาดขึ้นก่อน และได้มีเด็กชายพันธ์ หงษ์น้อย อายุได้ ๙ ปี ได้ไปเป็นศิษย์ท่านอยู่ที่วัดเกาะสวาด ท่านได้นำเด็กชายพันธ์ หงษ์น้อย มาดูที่ดินที่จะมาสร้างวัดนี้ ดูที่ดินและบริเวณชอบใจเสร็จแล้วพากันกลับไปวัดเกาะสวาด ต่อมาไม่ช้าท่านก็เดินทางไปขอที่ดินต่อพระยารัฐกลันตัน เพราะในสมัยนั้นอำเภอตากใบนี้ ตกอยู่ในความปกครองของพระยารัฐกลันตัน มะลายู เมืองหลวงตั้งอยู่โกตาบารู ครั้งพระยาเจ้าปากแดง เป็นพระยารัฐกลันตันได้อนุญาตให้ท่านสร้างวัด เริ่มสร้างวัดนี้ขึ้นเมื่อ ปีวอก พุทธศักราช ๒๔๐๓ เสร็จแล้ว แต่ยังไม่ได้ตั้งชื่อวัด เพียงแต่ชาวบ้านเรียกกันทั่วไปว่า วัดเจ๊ะเห หรือวัดท่าพรุ บางพวกเรียกว่าวัดท่าพรุ เพราะเดิมก่อน ที่สร้างวัดนี้มีท่าเรืออยู่ก่อนแล้ว ชาวบ้านเล่ากันว่าเมื่อมาจากบ้านจะไปท่าเรือ ต้องข้ามพรุนามาก่อนจะถึงท่าเรือ จึงเรียกย่อคำว่าท่าพรุ บางพวกเรียกว่าวัดเจ๊ะเห ก็เพราะว่าแม่น้ำหน้าวัดนี้ ต่อเนื่องมาากหน้าหมู่บ้านเจ๊ะเห จึงเรียกว่าวัดเจ๊ะเห


เมื่อสร้างเสร็จแล้วท่านได้มาเป็นเจ้าอาวาสอยู่วัดนี้ ในสมัยที่ท่านเป็นเจ้าอาวาสอยู่วัดเจ๊ะเห ได้สร้างวัดโคกมะเฟือง หมู่ที่ ๑ ตำบลศาลาใหม่ อำเภอตากใบ ให้พระไชย เป็นเจ้าอาวาส ไปสร้างวัดทรายขาว (บ้านตลิ่งสูง) หมู่ที่ ๒ ตำบลไพรวัน อำเภอตากใบ ให้พระปูย เป็นเจ้าอาวาส เสร็จเรียบร้อยรวม ๒ วัด หลังจากได้สร้างวัดเจ๊ะเหนี้ขึ้นแล้วเป็นเวลาประมาณ ๑๓ ปี ท่านก็ได้สร้างโบสถ์ขึ้น เมื่อปีระกา พุทธศักราช ๒๔๑๖ ท่านให้พระไชย วัดเกาะสะท้อน เป็นช่างก่อ และเขียนลวดลายในโบสถ์ และได้สร้างพระประธานในโบสถ์นี้ขึ้นเมื่อ ปีมะแม พุทธศักราช ๒๔๒๖ และได้ทำกำแพงล้อมรอบบริเวณโบสถ์เสร็จเป็นที่เรียบร้อย ในระหว่างนี้ยังไม่ได้ฝังลูกนิมิต ท่านก็ได้เดินทางไปกรุงเทพฯ อีกครั้งหนึ่ง
เมื่อท่านกลับมาจากกรุงเทพฯ ท่านได้นำถ้วยมา ๒ ใบ ชื่อว่าถ้วยเทพนม หรือนรสิงห์ ถ้วยทั้ง ๒ ใบนี้ท่านได้มาด้วยบุคคลถวาย หรือท่านซื้อมาไม่มีผู้ใดทราบชัด แต่พอสันนิฐานว่าคงมีบุคคลถวายท่านมา ตอนนี้ท่านยังไม่ได้รับการแต่งตั้งเป็นท่านพระครู ท่านมีอายุมากแล้วและท่านเคยเป็นพระอุปัชฌาย์มาหลายปี แต่ไม่ได้รับตราตั้งให้เป็นพระอุปัชฌาย์แต่อย่างใด ท่านพระครูทอง บ้านเดิมท่านอยู่บ้านในกลันตัน ได้เดินทางมาจากกรุงเทพฯ ได้มาห้ามท่านมิให้บวชบรรดาสานุศิษย์วัด ในปีนั้นจึงมิได้ทำการบวชลูกและหลานรวม ๒ ปี ต่อมาท่านศรีทองกับท่านดำวัดทรายขาว ได้พากันเดินทางไปกรุงเทพฯ โดยเรือใบ ไปขอตราพระอุปัชฌาย์ให้ท่าน แต่การเดินทางไปนั้นใกล้จะเข้าพรรษาอยู่แล้ว จึงต้องจำพรรษาที่กรุงเทพฯ ๑ พรรษา ในระหว่างนี้ท่านดำกับคณะได้เข้ากราบทูลต่อพระสังฆราชสงฆ์เพื่อขอตราพระอุปัชฌาย์ สังฆราชอนุญาตให้เป็นพระอุปัชฌาย์ ๒ องค์คือ ท่านดำ วัดทรายขาว ๑ องค์ ท่านพุฒ ๑ องค์ รวม ๒ องค์ พอออกพรรษาก็ได้เดินทางกลับมา และได้นำตราพระอุปัชฌาย์มาถวาย ต่อมาท่านได้สร้างศาลากลางน้ำขึ้นในปีนั้น ๑ หลัง เพื่อจะได้บวชสานุศิษย์ที่ยังไม่ได้บวช ๒ ปี ได้ทำการบวชในปีนั้น คือนายแก้ว ตรีเพ็ชร (โต๊ะหมอแก้ว) กับพวกอีกหลายคนด้วยกัน
และได้สร้างสะพานข้ามพรุนา ไปยังหมู่ที่ ๔ ตำบลเจ๊ะเห สะพานแห่งนี้สร้างด้วยไม้ตำเสา พื้น เสา และคาน ล้วนแต่ไม้ตำเสาทั้งสิ้นได้ทำรั่วด้านหน้าวัดสายแม่น้ำ ได้รับการแต่งตั้งเป็นท่านพระครูโอภาสพุทธคุร ได้จัดฝังลูกนิมิตเสร็จเป็นที่เรียบร้อยท่านชราภาพอายุได้ประมาณ ๑๐๐ ปี ก็ป่วยด้วยโรคชราภาพ บรรดาชาวบ้านได้จัดตั้งเวรยามเปลี่ยนกันมาพยาบาลจนท่านสิ้นบุญ ในเดือน ๔ ปีมะเมีย พุทธศักราช ๒๔๓๗
วัดชลธาราสิงเหนี้ นับแต่วันสร้างจนถึงบัดนีนี้ (พ.ศ. ๒๕๔๓) เป็นเวลาได้ ๑๔๐ ปี และโบสถ์นับมาแต่วันสร้างจนถึงบัดนี้ (พ.ศ. ๒๕๔๓) เป็นเวลา ๑๒๗ ปี ต่อมาท่านศรีทองเป็นเจ้าอาวาสแทน เดิมบ้านท่านอยู่อำเภอปานาเระ จังหวัดปัตตานี ท่านสร้างกุฏิขึ้นหนึ่งหลัง และท่านได้ซ่อมแซมสะพานที่ชำรุดทรุดโทรม โดยในปีนั้นมีพ่อค้าได้บรรทุกกระดานไม้เคี่ยมมากับเรือใหญ่ มาจากนครศรีธรรมราช บังเอิญเรือแตกที่เขาตันหยง ได้ขนไม้กระดานขึ้นที่เขาตันหยง เจ้าของเรือได้ประกาศขายไม้กระดาน ท่านศรีทองทราบข่าวว่ามีไม้กระดานขายที่เขาตันหยง จึงชักชวนชาวบ้านไปซื้อไม้กระดานนี้มาเรียบพื้นสะพานเสร็จรียบร้อย แล้วได้จัดงานศพท่านพระครูโอภาสพุทธคุณ ทำเมรุที่ตั้งศพเป็นรูปแปดด้าน และนายช่างทำเมรุอยู่ในความควบคุมดูแลของท่านวินัยธรรม วัดโคกมะเฟือง ทำอยู่ประมาณ ๘ เดือน ได้จัดงานใหญ่โตมโหฬาร และในงานครั้งนี้มีมหรสพแสดงกันหลายโรง และมีการพนันทุกชนิด ในงานครั้งนี้ครึกครื้นมาก เป็นประวัติการของอำเภอตากใบพอเสร็จงานไทยได้เข้ามาปกครองอำเภอตากใบ เมื่อปี ร.ศ. ๑๒๘ พุทธศักราช ๒๔๕๒ ขุนสมานธาตุวิสุทธิ์ (เปลี่ยนกาญจนรันต์) เป็นนายอำเภอตากใบ อยู่มาไม่นานได้สร้างซุ่มประตูหน้าวัดเป็นที่่ถาวร และได้จารึกไว้ที่ซุ่มประตูเป็นการตั้งชื่อว่า "วัดชลธาราสิงเห" หมายถึงวัดที่ต่อติดกับแม่น้ำ สิงเห นี้หมายถึงชื่อท่านพระครูโอภาสพุทธคุณ ที่ท่านมีบุญฤทธิ์มาก ออกชื่อท่านบุคคลย่อมเกรงกลัวทั่วไปดั่งราชสีห์ จึงเอาแม่น้ำและบุญฤทธิ์ดังราชสีห์มารวมย่อๆ ว่า วัดชลธาราสิงเห และท่านศรีทองได้รับการแต่งตั้งเป็นพระครูนราเขตสังฆกิจ ในการเดินทางไปรับตราพระครูที่กรุงเทพฯ ได้นำนายทอง เหลื่อมปุย ไปด้วย รับตราพระครูนราเขตสังฆกิจนี้ เมื่อวันที่ ๒๓ ธันวาคม พ.ศ. ๒๔๕๓ เป็นอันดับที่ ๔๓ ให้มีตำแหน่งเสมอที่สังฆปาโมกข์ เจ้าคณะเมือง มณฑลปัตตานี ครั้งสมเด็จพระปรเมนทรมหาวชิราวุธพระมงกุฏเกล้าเจ้าอยู่หัว ทรงพระราชทานพัดพระครู เสร็จแล้วเดินทางกลับมาได้จัดตั้งท่านเสาร์ วัดนอก ให้เป็นท่านใบฏีกา ท่านเงิน วัดใต้เป็นท่านวินัยธร ท่านจู้ย วัดโคกมะเฟือง เป็นวินัยธรรม ท่านเสาร์ วัดบางน้อย เป็นสมุห์ เป็นที่เสร็จเรียบร้อยแล้ว พอดีท่านปูย เจ้าอาวาสวัดทรายขาวสิ้นบุญ ได้แต่งตั้งท่านดำ เป็นคณะดำ เป็นเจ้าอาวาสวัดทรายขาว อยู่มาไม่นานท่านพระ
