ศิลปนิพนธ์นี้ผู้จัดทำได้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อออกแบบนิทรรศการเพื่อเสริมสร้างทักษะการเรียนรู้ 4 ด้านสําหรับเด็กปฐมวัย ในการดำเนินงานได้ทำการศึกษาค้นคว้าเอกสาร และข้อมูลต่างๆที่เป็น ความรู้เกี่ยวกับการเสริมสร้างพัฒนาการเรียนรู้ 4 ด้าน โดยใช้หลักสูตรการเรียนการสอนของศูนย์ พัฒนาเด็กเมืองศิลา พุทธศักราช 2551 เป็นพื้นฐานในเรื่องของการเสริมสร้างพัฒนาการเรียนรู้ให้กับ เด็กปฐมวัยในรูปแบบของการจัดงาน Expo ด้วยการออกแบบให้มีความเหมาะสมตามความต้องการ ของกลุ่มเป้าหมาย จึงได้แรงบันดาลใจในการจัดนิทรรศการด้วยแนวคิด “PLAY” ว่าด้วยรูปแบบ ของการเล่น เพราะการเล่นเป็นกิจกรรมที่เป็นหัวใจสําคัญในวัยเด็ก ธรรมชาติของเด็กชอบการเล่น อันจะเกิดการเรียนรู้ไปพร้อมๆกัน เสริมสร้างพัฒนาการแก่เด็กทั้ง 4 ด้าน ประกอบด้วย พัฒนาการ ทางด้านร่างกาย พัฒนาการทางด้านอารมณ์ พัฒนาการทางด้านสังคม พัฒนาการทางด้านปัญญา
