งานวิจัยนี้มีจุดมุ่งหมายเพื่อ 1) เพื่อหาประสิทธิภาพของการใช้กิจกรรมกลุ่มเพื่อส่งเสริมการเรียนรู้คำศัพท์วิชาการในหนังสือพิมพ์ภาษาอังกฤษของผู้เรียนชั้นมัธยมปีศึกษาที่ 3 ที่มีประสิทธิภาพตารมเกณฑ์ 2) เพื่อเปรียบเทีบผลสัมฤทธิ์ด้านการเรียนรู้คำศัพท์ภาษาอังกฤษของผู้เรียนชั้นมัธยมปีศึกษาที่ 3 ระหว่างก่อนเรียนและหลังเรียน 3)เพื่อศึกษาความพึงพอใจของผู้เรียนที่มีต่อการใช้กิจกรรมกลุ่มเพื่อส่งเสริมการเรียนรู้คำศัพท์ภาษาอังกฤษของผู้เรียนชั้นมัธยมปีศึกษาที่ 3 กลุ่มตัวอย่างที่ใช้ในการวิจัยครั้งนี้เป็นนักเรียนชั้นมัธยมปีศึกษาที่ 3 โรงเรียนวัดโพธิ์ จังหวัดมุกดาหาร สังกัดสำนักงานเขตพื้นที่การศึกษามัธยมศึกษา เขต 2 ภาคเรียนที่ 2 ปีการศึกษา 2530 มีนักเรียนทั้งหมดจำนวน 50 คน ได้มาโดยการสุ่มอย่างง่าย เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการวิจัยในครั้งนี้ มี 4 ชนิดประกอบด้วย 1). แผนการจัดกิจกรรมการเรียนรู้เพื่อส่งเสริมการเรียนรู้คำศัพท์ภาษาอังกฤษ 2). แบบทดสอบคำศัพท์วิชาการ 3). แบบตรวจสอบรายการคำศัพท์ 4). แบบทดสอบการแปลความหมายศัพท์ สถิติในการวิเคราะห์ข้อมูลได้แก่ ค่าเฉลี่ยร้อยละ ส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐานและ t-test ผลการวิจัยปรากฏผลดังนี้
1. ประสิทธิภาพของการใช้กิจกรรมกลุ่มเพื่อส่งเสริมการเรียนรู้คำศัพท์มีประสิทธิภาพตามเกณฑ์
2. ผลสัมฤทธิ์ทางการเรียนของนักเรียนที่ได้จัดกิจกรรมการเรียนรู้มีผลสัมฤทธิ์ทางการเรียนหลังเรียนสูงกว่าก่อนเรียน อย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับ 0.1
3. นักเรียนรู้คำศัพท์โดยรวมอยู่ระดับมากและมีระดับความพึงพอใจรายข้ออยู่ในระดับมากถึงมากที่สุด
