เป็นนิทรรศการห้องที่ 1 มีอัญมณีประจำห้องคือ เพทาย ที่มีสีน้ำตาลอ่อน ซึ่งสื่อถึงความเก่าแก่ของชุมชนแต่ละชุมชน จัดแสดงเกี่ยวกับชุมชนหัตถศิลป์ถิ่นเมืองกรุงทั้ง 12 ชุมชน บนเกาะรัตนโกสินทร์ เพื่อให้ผู้ชมทราบถึงวิถีทำกิน และสะท้อน เอกลักษณ์ความเป็นอยู่แบบไทยสมัยกรุงรัตนโกสินทร์ โดยเป็นภูมิปัญญาของบรรพบุรุษที่ได้สั่งสม ที่มีเอกลักษณ์ความโดดเด่นทางด้านอาชีพหรือความสามารถทางด้านศิลปะ
