ปัจจุบัน เทคโนโลยีคอมพิวเตอร์และสารสนเทศมีความเจริญก้าวหน้ารวดเร็ว และได้เข้ามามีบทบาทต่อการดำเนินงานขององค์กรต่างๆ ไม่ว่าจะเป็นอุตสาหกรรม พาณิชยกรรม ทั้งในภาครัฐและเอกชนเป็นอย่างมาก ยังผลให้ความต้องการบุคลากรที่เชี่ยวชาญในเทคโนโลยีคอมพิวเตอร์และสารสนเทศเพิ่มมากขึ้นทุกปี
สถาบันการจัดการปัญญาภิวัฒน์ เล็งเห็นถึงความสำคัญในการผลิตบุคลากรที่มีความเชี่ยวชาญด้านคอมพิวเตอร์และเทคโนโลยีสารสนเทศ จึงเปิดดำเนินการเรียนการสอน หลักสูตรวิทยาศาสตรบัณฑิต สาขาวิชาเทคโนโลยีสารสนเทศ เพื่อผลิตบัณฑิตที่มีความรู้ในด้านเทคโนโลยีสารสนเทศสมัยใหม่ ซึ่งรวมถึงการออกแบบและสร้างระบบงานฐานข้อมูล การพัฒนาโปรแกรมคอมพิวเตอร์ การบริหารโครงการทางเทคโนโลยีสารสนเทศขนาดเล็กถึงขนาดกลาง การสื่อสารข้อมูล การบริหารความปลอดภัยข้อมูลสารสนเทศ และความรู้สมัยใหม่ด้านวิทยาศาสตร์บริการ โดยเน้นการเรียนรู้เชิงทฤษฎีควบคู่กับการปฏิบัติ และการทำงานจริง (Work-based Learning) เพื่อให้บัณฑิตสามารถนำความรู้ที่ได้มาใช้ในการปฏิบัติงานในสถานประกอบการได้ทันทีภายหลังสำเร็จการศึกษา ประกอบกับได้มีการจัดเนื้อหาวิชาและกิจกรรมเสริมหลักสูตรเพื่อหล่อหลอมให้บัณฑิตเป็นผู้ที่มีคุณธรรมจริยธรรมในการทำงานและการดำเนินชีวิต ทั้งยังปลูกฝังให้เป็นผู้ที่มีการศึกษาค้นคว้าหาความรู้ไปตลอดชีวิต (Life Long Learning)
