1. As a social institution, education performs a rather conservative function; transmitting the dominant culture. Schooling exposes each generation of young people to the existing belief, norms and values of their future
2. Education serves the function of promoting social and political integration by transforming a population composed of diverse racial, ethnic, and religion groups into a mainstream society whose members are forced a common identity.
3. School teaches students various skills and values essentials to their future position in workforce. At the same time, school is an instrument of elite domination. It causes social inequality exiting in education opportunity available to difference racial and ethnic groups.
4. Education become mass product in consumer society. Student consumes education for symbolic meaning.
5. De- construction of education discloses self-empowerment.
