ตั้งอยู่ในบริเวณสวนสมเด็จพระนางเจ้า สิริกิติ์ ใกล้กับสวนจตุจักร พิพิธภัณฑ์เด็กกรุงเทพมหานคร หรือ CHILDREN’S DISCOVERY MUSEUM เป็นโครงการที่สืบเนื่องจากพระราชปรารภในสมเด็จพระนางเจ้าสิริกิติ์ พระบรมราชินีนาถ ที่ทรงตระหนักถึงความสำคัญในการสร้างสรรค์กระบวนการเรียนรู้อย่างเพลิดเพลินของเด็กไทย และจากกิจกรรมสำหรับเด็กและครอบครัวของกทม. พิพิธภัณฑ์เด็กกรุงเทพมหานครจึงได้ถือกำเนิดขึ้นเป็นอาคารจัดแสดงนิทรรศการ 3 หลัง พร้อมลานกิจกรรมกลางแจ้ง ซึ่งก่อสร้างแล้วเสร็จในปี พ.ศ.2544 บนพื้นที่ 5 ไร่ ในสวนสมเด็จพระนางเจ้าสิริกิติ์ฯ ภายใต้โครงการเฉลิมพระเกียรติเนื่องในวโรกาสพระชนมายุครบ 60 พรรษา
