การวิจัยครั้งนี้ได้ศึกษาพฤติกรรมการฝึกภาษาอังกฤษของนักศึกษาสาขาวิชาภาษาอังกฤษชั้นปีที่4 มหาวิทยาลัยราชภัฎอุบลราชธานี ซึ่งเป็นวิจัยเชิงคุณภาพมีวัตถุประสงค์ 3 ข้อ คือ
1.เพื่อศึกษาการพัฒนาทักษะทั้ง 4 ด้านของนักศึกษาชั้นปีที่ 4 สาขาวิชาภาษาอังกฤษ
2. เพื่อศึกษาแนวทางการเรียนภาษาอังกฤษด้วยตนเองของนักศึกษาชั้นปีที่ 4 สาขาวิชาภาษาอังกฤษ
3. เพื่อศึกษาว่านักศึกษาสามารถนำความรู้จากนอกห้องเรียนมาปรับใช้ในห้องเรียนได้หรือไม่
ซึ่งผุ้ทำวิจัยได้จัดทำเครื่องมือในการวิจัยมา 3 ส่วน คือ
ส่วนที่1ข้อมูลสถานภาพของผู้ตอบแบบสอบถามประกอบด้วย ชื่อ อายุ เพศ
ส่วนที่ 2 แบบสอบถามซึ่งประกอบด้วยคำถามจำนวน 6 ข้อ

ข้อ 1
ด้านการฟังนักศึกษาชั้นปีที่ 4 สาขาวิชาภาษาอังกฤษส่วนมากจะวางแผนพัฒนาการทางด้านการฟังโดยการฟังเพลง ดูหนังซาวแทรค แบบมีซับไตเติ้ล บ่อยๆ และนอกจากนั้นก็คือ การฟังข่าวดูการตูนซึ่งมีเจ้าของภาษาเป็นพิธีกร และฝึกอ่านออกเสียงตาม
ด้านการอ่าน ฝึกอ่านหนังสือภาษาอังกฤษเพิ่มขึ้นทั้งที่เป็นแบบหนังสือที่มีภาพประกอบ เช่น หนังสือนิทาน การตูน และบทความ ภาษาอังกฤษสั้นๆ แล้วแปลเนื้อหาโดยเริ่มจากระดับที่ง่ายไปจนถึงระดับที่ยากขึ้นโดยการฝึกอ่านออกเสียงตามอย่างสม่ำเสมอ
ด้านการพูด ฝึกสนทนากับเพื่อนครูชาวต่างชาติบ่อยๆ โดยฟังและพุดโต้ตอบ
ด้านการเขียน ฝึกเขียนคำศัพท์และทำความเข้าใจและมีการเขียนโน้ตหรือจดบันทึกประจำวันที่เป็นภาษาอังกฤษ เปลี่ยนข้อมูลในเฟซบุ๊คหรือโทรศัพท์ให้เป็นภาษาอังกฤษ




ข้อ 2
ด้านการฟัง นักศึกษาส่วนมากมีพัฒนาการในระดับปานกลางเนื่องจากไม่ทราบความหมายของคำศัพท์จึงไม่สามารถรู้ความหมายได้ และไม่สามรถจับใจความสำคัญของประโยคได้
ด้านการอ่าน นักศึกษาส่วนมากอ่านได้โดยไม่ต้องใช้ดิกชันนารีเพื่อฝึกภาษาอังกฤษมากขึ้นและยังสามารถสื่อสารกับเจ้าของภาษาได้
ด้านการพูด นักศึกษาส่วนมากมีพัฒนาการในระดับปานกลาง คือสามารถออกเสียงภาษาอังกฤษได้ดีขึ้น สามารถพูดได้บ้างถึงแม้จะยังไม่ถูกหลักไวยากรณ์ เพราะได้มีการฝึกฝนอย่างสม่ำเสมอ
ส่วนนักศึกษากลุ่มที่มีพัฒนาการมาก สามารถออกเสียงถูกต้องและใกล้เคียงกับเจ้าของภาษาเพราระมีการฝึกทักษะด้านอื่นๆร่มด้วย
ด้านการเขียน เขียนดีขึ้นและถูกหลักไวยากรณ์มากขึ้นและยังทราบถึงวิธีการเขียนที่ถูกต้องและมีเทคนิคในการเขียนที่เป็นเชิงวิชาการมากขึ้น สามารถเขียนเป็นประโยคได้ดีขึ้น
