ในปัจจุบันโครงการแลกเปลี่ยนนักศึกษาไปยังต่างประเทศ ได้มีบทบาทมากขึ้นกับมหาวิทยาลัยในประเทศไทย รวมทั้งมหาวิทยาลัยขอนแก่น ทั้งนี้ในการเข้าร่วมโครงการแลกเปลี่ยนนักศึกษา Ewha Womans University ประเทศเกาหลี ก็เป็นอีกโครงการหนึ่งที่สำคัญในการเรียนรู้ประสบการณ์ในต่างประเทศ
