...เศรษฐกิจพอเพียง เป็นปรัชญาที่พระบาทสมเด็จพระเจ้าอยู่หัวพระราชทานพระราชดำริชี้แนะแนวทางการดำเนินชีวิตแก่พสกนิกรชาวไทยมาโดยตลอด.นานกว่า๒๕ปีตั้งแต่ก่อนเกิดวิกฤตการณ์ทางเศรษฐกิจและเมื่อภายหลังได้ทรงเน้นย้ำแนวทางการแก้ไขเพื่อให้รอดพ้นและสามารถดำรงอยู่ได้อย่างมั่นคงและยั่งยืนภายใต้กระแสโลกาภิวัตน์และความเปลี่ยนแปลงต่างๆ.
... คำว่าเศรษฐกิจพอเพียงนั้นหมายถึง ความประหยัด การ อดออม การใช้ของอย่างเป็นรู้คุณค่า.

เศรษฐกิจพอเพียงนั้นสามารถ ทำได้ทุกบ้านทุกครัวเรือนข้อสำคัญ.คือเราครวใช้จ่ายอย่างประหยัด. เช่น ปลูกผักเอาไว้กินเอง  และเอาไว้ขายเพื่อหารายได้เข้ามาในครัวเรือน อีกทางหนึ่ง หรือ เลี้ยงปลา เอาไว้เพื่อรับประทานเอง หรือเอาไว้ขาย. เพื่อเป้นต้นทุนในการเลี้ยงปลาอีกทางหนึ่ง.เราสามารถดำรงชีวิตได้อย่างไม่ต้องพึ่งพาเงินทองได้อย่างสบาย. และยังทำให้เราได้รู้เราควรใช้จ่ายอย่างประหยัดและรู้คุณค่าของเงินด้วยหากทุกบ้านทุกครัวเรือนอยุ่แบบเศรษฐกิจพอเพียงเราสามารถไม่ต้องการเงินทองเลยก็ได.้

....แนวคิดหลักของเศรษฐกิจพอเพียงก็คือ การตั้งอยู่บนพื้นฐานของทางสายกลาง  ไม่ประมาท  โดยที่จะต้องคำนึงถึงความพอประมาณ  ความมีเหตุผล  การสร้างภูมิคุ้มกันที่ดีในตัว
