บทคัดย่อ : ในปัจจุบันนี้การก่อสร้างชั้นพื้นทางสำหรับงานถนนนิยมใช้การบดอัดเพื่อปรับปรุงคุณภาพการรับกำลังของดิน โดยนิยมตรวจสอบด้วยวิธีการทดลองหาค่าความหนาแน่นของวัสดุในสนามโดยใช้ทราย (Sand Cone Test) ซึ่งมีข้อจำกัดในแง่ของระยะเวลาและจำนวนจุดตรวจสอบที่ไม่ต่อเนื่อง จึงได้มีการพัฒนาเครื่องมือ Rapid Cone Penetration เพื่อทดสอบคุณภาพการบดอัดชั้นทางที่ช่วยให้มีความเร็วในการทดสอบและสามารถวัดแรงต้านได้โดยตรง ดังนั้นงานวิจัยนี้จึงศึกษาหาความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างค่าความต้านทานกรวยจาก Rapid Cone Penetration กับผลการทดลองห้องปฏิบัติการ ซึ่งต้องทำการทดสอบแคลิฟอร์เนีย แบริ่ง เรโช , การทดสอบแรงต้านกรวยด้วยความเร่ง , การทดสอบแรงต้านกรวยสถิต และ การทดสอบหาแรงอัดแกนเดียว โดยวัสดุที่นำมาทดสอบในงานวิจัยมี 3 ชนิดได้แก่ พื้นทางหินคลุก พื้นทางหินคลุกผสมซีเมนต์ และพื้นทางดินซีเมนต์ การศึกษาเริ่มจากการทดสอบการบดอัดในห้องปฏิบัติการ (Compaction Test) เพื่อศึกษาหาค่าปริมาณน้ำที่เหมาะสมและค่าความหนาแน่นแห้งสูงสุดของวัสดุทั้งสามชนิด สำหรับวัสดุชั้นทางที่ปรับปรุงคุณภาพด้วยปูนซีเมนต์ จะทำการทดสอบ Trial Mix ด้วยการผสมปูนซีเมนต์ร้อยละ 1-5 โดยมวลของวัสดุ เพื่อหาร้อยละของปูนซีเมนต์ที่ทำให้วัสดุมีค่ากำลังรับแรงอัดสูงที่สุด ผลที่คาดว่าจะได้รับคือ สามารถหาความสัมพันธ์จากผลการทดลอง Rapid Cone Penetration กับผลการทดลองในห้องปฏิบัติการ ซึ่งได้แก่ การทดสอบแคลิฟอร์เนีย แบริ่ง เรโช , การทดสอบแรงต้านกรวยด้วยความเร่ง , การทดสอบแรงต้านกรวยสถิต และ การทดสอบแรงอัดแกนเดียวได้
