ความว่า จากท่านอะนัส เราะฎิยัลลอฮฺ อันฮุ เล่าว่า ท่านรอซูล ศ็อลลัลลอฮฺ อะลัยฮิ วะสัลลัม ได้เดินทางมาสู่มะดีนะฮฺ ชาวมะดีนะฮฺสมัยนั้นมีสองวันที่พวกเขาละเล่นรื่นเริงกัน ท่านจึงได้ถามว่า “สองวันนี้เป็นวันอะไร?” พวกเขาตอบว่า “พวกเราเคยรื่นเริงกันมาในสองวันนี้ตั้งแต่สมัยเก่าก่อน” ท่านรอซูล ศ็อลลัลลอฮฺ อะลัยฮิ วะสัลลัม กล่าวตอบว่า “แท้จริงอัลลอฮฺได้เปลี่ยนมันด้วยวันที่ดีกว่าทั้งสองวันนั้น นั่นคือวันอีดอัล-ฟิฏรฺ และอีดอัล-อัฎฮา”  (รายงานโดย อบู ดาวูด หมายเลข 959 ดู เศาะฮีหฺ สุนัน อบี ดาวูด หมายเลข 1004 เป็นหะดีษเศาะฮีหฺ)
