โครงงานนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อสร้างภาพความเข้มแสงที่ผ่านระบบเลนส์บาง 2 ตัว ที่วางวัตถุไว้ที่ระยะแตกต่างกันด้วยคอมพิวเตอร์ โดยอาศัยสมการการเลี้ยวเบนของเฟรสเนลในการคำนวณหาฟังก์ชันการส่งผ่านแอมปลิจูดสนามไฟฟ้า ซึ่งระบบโปรแกรมคอมพิวเตอร์ที่เขียนขึ้นเองสามารถทำงานได้เป็นอย่างดี ผลการคำนวณโดยใช้โปรแกรมคอมพิวเตอร์พบว่า ลักษณะของภาพที่ถูกสร้างขึ้นจากการเขียนโปรแกรมคอมพิวเตอร์ สอดคล้องกับลักษณะของภาพที่ได้จากการคำนวณโดยใช้หลักการต่อเนื่องในทัศนศาสตร์เชิงเรขาคณิต (Geometrical Optics) ของระบบเลนส์บาง 2 ตัว โดยมีความสอดคล้องทั้งลักษณะภาพ (หัวตั้ง, หัวกลับ) กำลังขยายของภาพ และระยะที่เกิดภาพ
