เกาะเภตรามีลักษณะคล้ายเรือสำเภา เป็นอุทยานแห่งชาติที่ตั้งอยู่บริเวณช่องแคบมะละกาทะเลอันดามัน ในคาบมหาสมุทรอินเดียทางฝั่งตะวันตกของไทย ครอบคลุมพื้นที่ชายหาดตลอดแนวฝั่งทะเลในท้องที่ตำบลปากน้ำ อำเภอละงู ตำบลขอนคลาน อำเภอทุ่งหว้า จังหวัดสตูล และตำบลสุกรอำเภอปะเหลียน จังหวัดตรัง ประกอบด้วยเกาะน้อยใหญ่ที่สำคัญคือ
