การวิจัยครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาถึงเรื่องเล่าความสำเร็จของผู้ประกอบการขายส่งข้าวโพดอ่อน และปัญหาและอุปสรรคของการดำเนินธุรกิจขายส่งข้าวโพด โดยการวิจัยครั้งนี้ใช้วิจัยเชิงคุณภาพ ด้วยวิธีวิทยาการศึกษาอัตชีวประวัติและเรื่องเล่า เก็บข้อมูลด้วยการสัมภาษณ์ระดับลึก และการสังเกตแบบไม่มีส่วนร่วม ประชากรผู้ให้ข้อมูลหลัก คือ ผู้ประกอบการขายส่งข้าวโพดอ่อน และบุคคลที่เกี่ยวข้อง จำนวนทั้งสิ้น 10 คน ผลการวิจัยพบว่า ความสำเร็จของผู้ประกอบการขายส่งข้าวโพดอ่อน เกิดจากการเป็นผู้ประกอบการเจ้าแรกในอำเภอ ความต้องการความเป็นอยู่ที่ดี ความสามารถในการวางแผน ความกล้าในการลงทุน ปัญหาและอุปสรรคที่พบคือ ความรู้และความเชี่ยวชาญในการปลูกข้าวโพดอ่อนในช่วงเริ่มแรก โรคและแมลงที่เป็นศัตรูของข้าวโพดอ่อน และการเก็บเกี่ยวฤดูกาล
