4) ทดสอบการหมุนหลังจากประกอบหินเจียรเข้ากับเครื่อง ก่อนทำการเจียรชิ้นงานควรทดสอบการหมุนของหินเจียรที่ความเร็วรอบปกติประมาณ 3 นาที และไม่ควรยืนตรงหน้าหินเจียรที่กำลังหมุน

5) การเก็บรักษาควรเก็บรักษาหินเจียรไว้ในที่ ที่ไม่โดน น้ำมัน น้ำ ฝุ่นละออง และไม่ควรให้หินเจียรสัมผัสโดยตรงกับความร้อน
