แมลงเต่าทอง หรือ แมลงเต่าลาย บางครั้งเรียก ด้วงเต่าทอง หรือ ด้วงเต่าลาย เป็นแมลงปีกแข็งชนิดหนึ่ง ในทั่วโลกมีอยู่ประมาณ 490 ชนิด ซึ่งเป็นแมลงที่มีความสวยงามจากเอกลักษณะของลำตัว และปีกที่มีสีสดใส และจุดลายในลำตัว
แมลงเต่าทองจัดเป็นแมลงสำคัญชนิดหนึ่งในระบบนิเวศ ซึ่งบางชนิดเป็นแมลงตัวห้ำที่คอยจับกินศัตรูพืชในแปลงเกษตร ช่วยลดปริมาณแมลงศัตรูพืชได้เป็นอย่างดี
แมลงเต่าทองไม่ใช่แมลงหรือสัตว์ที่นิยมนำมาเลี้ยง แต่เป็นแมลงที่พบได้ตามธรรมชาติที่มีความสวยงามเป็นเอกลักษณ์ที่ไม่มีแมลงอื่นเหมือน
ลักษณะทั่วไป
แมลงเต่าทองมีช่วงการเจริญเติบโตครบทั้ง 4 ระยะ คือ ระยะตัวเต็มวัย ระยะไข่ ระยะตัวอ่อน และระยะดักแด้

ตัวเต็มวัย
ตัวเต็มวัยหลังจากฟักออกจากดักแด้จะเป็นแมลงปีกแข็ง ลำตัวยาว 3-6 มิลลิเมตร ลำตัวมีลักษณะมันวาว มีหลายสีตามชนิด อาทิ สีน้ำตาลแดง สีแดง สีเหลืองปนน้ำตาลแดง และสีเหลือง เป็นต้น
