การวิจัยครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาปัจจัยส่วนบุคคล การตระหนักในการเข้าสู่ประชาคมอาเซียน การรับรู้เกี่ยวกับประชาคมอาเซียน แรงจูงใจในการพัฒนาตนเอง และการเตรียมความพร้อมการเข้าสู่ประชาคมอาเซียน ศึกษาเปรียบเทียบการเตรียมความพร้อมการเข้าสู่ประชาคมอาเซียน จำแนกตามปัจจัยส่วนบุคคล และศึกษาหาความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างการตระหนักรู้ในการเข้าสู่ประชาคมอาเซียน การรับรู้เกี่ยวกับประชาคมอาเซียน และแรงจูงใจในการพัฒนาตนเองกับการเตรียมความพร้อมการเข้าสู่ประชาคมอาเซียนของบุคลากรสายสนับสนุนและช่วยวิชาการ สังกัดสำนักงานอธิการบดี มหาวิทยาลัยเกษตรศาสตร์ บางเขน กลุ่มตัวอย่างที่ใช้ในการวิจัย ได้แก่ บุคลากรสายสนับสนุนและช่วยวิชาการ สังกัดสำนักงานอธิการบดี มหาวิทยาลัยเกษตรศาสตร์ บางเขน จำนวน 298 คน เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการศึกษา คือ แบบสอบถาม วิเคราะห์ข้อมูลใช้สถิติพรรณนา ได้แก่ ค่าร้อยละ ค่าเฉลี่ย ส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน และทดสอบสมมติฐานใช้สถิตการทดสอบแบบที การวิเคราะห์ความแปรปรวนทางเดียว หาความแตกต่างเป็นรายคู่ ด้วยวิธีการของเชฟเฟ่ และหาค่าความสัมพันธ์ โดยใช้สถิติสหสัมพันธ์แบบเพียร์สัน กำหนดค่านัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับ .05
