งานประเพณี "สารทไทยกล้วยไข่เมืองกำแพงเพชร ปี 2557"

งานสารทไทยกล้วยไข่เมืองกำแพง เริ่มจัดขึ้นครั้งแรกเมื่อปี 2524 ในช่วงที่มีผลผลิตกล้วยไข่ออกมากที่สุด คือช่วงเดือนกันยายนถึงตุลาคม โดยใช้ชื่องานว่า "วันกล้วยไข่เมืองกำแพง” และเพื่อให้สอดคล้องกับกิจกรรมทางศาสนาของชาวพุทธที่นิยมทำบุญเดือน 10 หรือที่เรียกว่า "สารทไทย” ซึ่งเป็นงานที่ทำกันในช่วง วันแรม 10 ค่ำ เดือน 10 ตามจันทรคติ ดังนั้น จึงได้เปลี่ยนชื่องานจาก “วันกล้วยไข่เมืองกำแพง” เป็นงาน "วันสารทไทยกล้วยไข่เมืองกำแพง” และจัดติดต่อกันมาจนถึงปัจจุบัน
จังหวัดกำแพงเพชรกำหนดจัดงานประเพณีสารทไทยกล้วยไข่เมืองกำแพง ประจำปี 2557 ในห้วงวันสารทไทย แรม 15 ค่ำ เดือน 10 ระหว่างวันที่ 23 กันยายน - 2 ตุลาคม 2557 ณ สนามหน้าเมือง อำเภอเมืองกำแพงเพชร เพื่อเผยแพร่ผลิตผลทางการเกษตรและของดีเมืองกำแพงเพชร ตลอดจนอนุรักษ์ขนบธรรมเนียมประเพณีและวัฒนธรรมอันดีงามและส่งเสริมการท่องเที่ยวจังหวัดกำแพงเพชรให้แพร่หลายยิ่งขึ้น
เมื่อวันที่ 23 กันยายน 2557 สำนักศิลปะและวัฒนธรรมได้นำตัวแทนจากชมรมศิลปะการแสดง มหาวิทยาลัยราชภัฏกำแพงเพชรและชุมนุมนาฏศิลป์ ศูนย์จริยศึกษา สธ.กำแพงเพชร เข้าร่วมในการแห่ขบวนรถบุปผชาติโดยจัดชุดขบวนรำมังคละร่วมในขบวนของอำเภอลานกระบือและชุดขบวนระบำกลองยาวร่วมในขบวนของอำเภอคลองขลุง นอกจากนี้ยังได้นำการแสดงนาฏศิลป์ต่างๆ อาทิเช่น “ระบำขวัญข้าว”“รำสีนวล”“ระบำศรีวิชัย” ขึ้นแสดงบนเวทีกลางในงานประเพณี “สารทไทยกล้วยไข่เมืองกำแพงเพชร” ในวันที่ 24 กันยายน 2557 และยังได้นำชุดการแสดง “ระบำชากังราว” เข้าร่วมในการแสดง แสง เสียง เรื่อง “กำแพงเพชรบุรีศรีวิมลาส์น” ณ วัดพระแก้ว อุทยานประวัติศาสตร์กำแพงเพชร ในวันที่ 26 กันยายน 2557 อีกด้วย
