๑. สร้างประชาคมอาเซียนด้วยการศึกษา มีการเตรียมความพร้อมในด้านกรอบความคิด คือ แผนการศึกษาแห่งชาติ ที่จะมุ่งสร้างความตระหนักรู้ของคนไทยในการจัดการศึกษาเพื่อสร้างคนไทยให้ เป็นคนของประชาคมอาเซียน พัฒนาสมรรถนะให้พร้อมจะอยู่ร่วมกันและส่งเสริมความร่วมมือระหว่างประเทศด้าน การศึกษา โดยให้มีการร่วมมือกันใน ๓ ด้านคือ ด้านพัฒนาคุณภาพการศึกษา การขยายโอกาสทางการศึกษา ส่งเสริมการมีส่วนร่วมในการบริการและจัดการศึกษา

๒. มีการขับเคลื่อนประชาคมอาเซียนด้วยการศึกษาด้วยการสร้างความเข้าใจในเรื่องเกี่ยวกับเพื่อนบ้านในกลุ่มประเทศอาเซียน ความแตกต่างทางด้านชาติพันธุ์ หลักสิทธิมนุษยชน การส่งเสริมการเรียนการสอนภาษาต่างประเทศเพื่อพัฒนาการติดต่อสื่อสารระหว่าง กันในประชาคมอาเซียน มีการเพิ่มครูที่จบการศึกษาด้านภาษาอังกฤษเข้าไปในทุกระดับชั้นการศึกษา เพื่อให้นักเรียนไทยสามารถสื่อสารภาษาอังกฤษได้อย่างสร้างสรรค์ นอกจากนี้ยังมีการร่วมมือกับภาคเอกชนในการรับอาสาสมัครเข้ามาสอนภาษาต่าง ประเทศ รวมถึงวัฒนธรรมของประเทศต่างๆเพื่อการอยู่ร่วมกันด้วยความเข้าใจกันของ ประเทศในประชาคม
