ด้านสมุทรศาสตร์
การใช้ประโยชน์ของข้อมูลจากดาวเทียมในด้านสมุทรศาสตร์นั้น ได้แก่ การศึกษาเกี่ยวกับตะกอนในทะเล และคุณภาพน้ำบริเวณชายฝั่ง เช่น การศึกษาการแพร่กระจายตัวของตะกอนแขวนลอยบริเวณรอบเกาะภูเก็ต และการแพร่กระจายตัวของตะกอนในบริเวณปากแม่น้ำต่างๆ ของอ่าวไทยตอนบน เช่น ปากแม่น้ำเจ้าพระยา บางปะกง และท่าจีน เป็นต้น ผลไม้จากการศึกษานั้นมีมาก เช่น เป็นประโยชน์ในด้านสิ่งแวดล้อม ด้านสมุทรศาสตร์ และการประมง จุฬาลงกรณ์มหาวิทยาลัย และสำนักงานคณะกรรมการวิจัยแห่งชาติ ได้ทำการศึกษาดังกล่าวแล้ว
