ด้วยคณะวิทยาการสื่อสาร ร่วมกับสถานวิจัยความขัดแย้งและความหลากหลายทางวัฒนธรรมภาคใต้ สถาบันสันติศึกษา คณะรัฐศาสตร์ วิทยาลัยอิสลามศึกษา มหาวิทยาลัยสงขลานครินทร์ และศูนย์เฝ้าระวังสถานการณ์ภาคใต้กำหนดจัดงานประชุมวิชาการระดับนานาชาติ เรื่อง “Communication, Conflicts and Peace Processes : Landscape of Knowledge from Asia and the Deep South of Thailand” ระหว่างวันที่ 21-22 สิงหาคม 2557 ณ มหาวิทยาลัยสงขลานครินทร์ วิทยาเขตปัตตานี โดยมีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อเป็นเวทีแลกเปลี่ยนวิชาการด้านการสื่อสารความขัดแย้งและกระบวนการสันติภาพรวบรวมแนวคิด องค์ความรู้และประสบการณ์จากการวิจัยในบริบทพื้นที่จังหวัดชายแดนภาคใต้และเอเชียอันจะนำไปสู่การสังเคราะห์สถานภาพการวิจัยและภูมิทัศน์องค์ความรู้ด้านการสื่อสาร ความขัดแย้งและกระบวนการสันติภาพ การสร้างเครือข่ายการทำงานเครือข่ายการวิจัยและการขับเคลื่อนกระบวนการสันติภาพในพื้นที่จังหวัดชายแดนภาคใต้ ทั้งนี้ ภายในงานประกอบด้วยการจัดการประชุมวิชาการระดับนานาชาติการบรรยายพิเศษ การอภิปราย และการนำเสนอผลงานวิจัย ทั้งรูปแบบบรรยาย (Oral Presentation) และการนำเสนอผลงานภาคโปสเตอร์ (Poster Presentation) ใน 3 กลุ่มสาขา ได้แก่ 1. Communication, Conflict and Peace 2. Politics, Political Conflict, Social Movements and Peace Processes 3.
