โครงการส่วนพระองค์ฯ แบ่งออกเป็น 2 รูปแบบ คือ

แบบไม่ใช่ธุรกิจ โครงการแบบไม่ใช่ธุรกิจ หมายถึง โครงการที่ได้รับการสนับสนุนจากราชการหลายๆ หน่วยงาน เพราะฉะนั้นจึงไม่มีรายรับและรายจ่ายประจำ เช่น การเลี้ยงและขยายพันธุ์ปลาหมอเทศ ทำป่าไม้สาธิต หาข้าวทดลอง เลี้ยงโคนม การเลี้ยงขยายพันธุ์ปลานิล ปลูกข้าวไร่ จัดทำก๊าซชีวภาพ เพาะเลี้ยงเนื้อเยื่อพืชสวนพืชสมุนไพร อาคารวิจัยและพัฒนา
