ปัจจุบันภาษอังกฤษมีบทบาทในการดำเนินชีวิตของเราเป็นอย่างมาก ยิ่งประเทศไทยก้าวเข้าสู่สมาคมอาเซียนด้วยแล้ว การที่เรารู้ภาษาที่สองถือเป็นเรื่องปกติและธรรมดามาก สังเกตได้จากร้านอาหารในประเทศของเราเองนั้น คนงานหรือเด็กเสริฟส่วนมากไม่ใช่คนไทยเลย ส่วนมากจะเป็นคนอินโด หรือชาวพม่าเพราะคนเหล่านี้เขาพูดได้หลายภาษาจึงถือเป็นทรัพยากรทางเศรษฐกิจที่สำคัญ ในฐานะที่เราเป็นเยาวชนไทยและเป็นนักศึกษาเราควรเป็นตัวอย่างที่ดีต่อคนรุ่นหลังให้ตระหนักถึงภาษา ซึ่งในการเรียนวิชา PTE421 Welding Engineering เป็นวิชาที่เกี่ยวกับงานเชื่อมและเป็นวิชานำร่องของการศึกษาไทยในยุคอาเซียนอีกด้วย ในอุตสาหกรรมงานเชื่อมนั้นจะมีศัพท์ทางเทคนิคหลายคำที่ใช้เป็นภาษาอังกฤษหรือใช้ทับศัพท์เอา จากเหตุผลดังกล่าวทำให้ดิฉันจัดทำโครงงานนี้ขึ้นเพื่อเสริมทักษะการใช้ภาษาอังกฤษและเป็นการหาความรู้เพิ่มเติมในสาขาวิชานั้นๆอีกด้วย
