ชีวิตคนเรา เติบโตขึ้นมาดำรงชีวิตอยู่ได้ด้วยความเมตตากรุณาจากผู้อื่นมาตั้งแต่เบื้อง ต้น คือ เมตตา กรุณา จากบิดา มารดา ครูบาอาจารย์ ญาติสนิท มิตรสหาย ถ้าไม่ได้รับความเมตตา ก็อาจจะสิ้นชีวิตไปแล้วเพราะถูกทิ้ง เมื่อเราเติบโตมาจากความเมตตากรุณา ก็ควรมีความเมตตากรุณาต่อชีวิตอื่นต่อไป
