ด้วยสายการบินไทยแอร์เอเชีย ประกอบธุรกิจการบินและมีความใกล้ชิดอยู่คู่กับสังคมไทยมานาน ได้เล็งเห็นถึงความสำคัญและน่าศึกษาเรียนรู้ของโครงการ “ชั่งหัวมัน” ซึ่งเกิดจากพระราชดำรัสของพระบาทสมเด็จพระเจ้าอยู่หัวฯ อันมีจุดมุ่งหมายเพื่อเป็นแหล่งเรียนรู้และเผยแพร่องค์ความรู้และพระราชกรณียกิจต่างๆที่ส่งผลต่อการเปลี่ยนแปลงและพัฒนาประเทศ และมองว่าด้วยศักยภาพในการให้บริการเดินทางทางอากาศของสายการบินนี้จะสามารถเป็นส่วนหนึ่งในการช่วยเผยแพร่พระราชกรณียกิจต่างๆของพระบาทสมเด็จพระเจ้าอยู่หัวฯ ได้ไม่มากก็น้อย จึงได้จัดกิจกรรมเที่ยวบินพิเศษ กรุงเทพฯ-หัวหิน ขึ้น และพาน้องๆเยาวชนจากสถานศึกษาที่ห่างไกลทั่วประเทศ เดินทางสู่โครงการดังกล่าว โดยมีวัตถุประสงค์ เพื่อสร้างโอกาสให้กับเยาวชนจากพื้นที่ห่างไกลในการเรียนรู้พระราชกรณียกิจด้านการพัฒนาการเกษตรของพระบาทสมเด็จพระเจ้าอยู่หัว และเป็นการถ่ายทอดองค์ความรู้สู่เยาวชนและบุคลากรที่เข้าร่วมโครงการ และให้สามารถบอกเล่า ส่งต่อองค์ความรู้สู่ชุมชนได้ จากการดำเนินโครงการได้ คัดเลือกเยาวชนจาก 14จังหวัดทั่วประเทศ คือ เชียงใหม่ เชียงราย พิษณุโลก อุบลราชธานี อุดรธานี นครพนม ขอนแก่น ตรัง กระบี่ นครศรีธรรมราช สุราษฎร์ธานี หาดใหญ่ ภูเก็ต นราธิวาส จำนวน 70 คน เดินทางสู่กรุงเทพฯ และโดยสารเที่ยวบินพิเศษไทยแอร์เอเชียสู่หัวหินในระหว่างวันที่ 11-13 กันยายน 2557 ที่ผ่านมา
